But I think of it this way. If OSU or Alabama wins the title, the people who say it doesn't really count aren't going to stop them from hanging a banner, wearing the ring or putting another trophy in the case.

I thought they added an extra game originally to preserve the rivalry games, and when the SEC went conference only, they scheduled practice games.
