Scroll down for database which can be sorted by state or conference. These figures are self reported so take it for what it is worth. Private schools may be able to at least partially shield their expenditures. Vols are the biggest spenders in the SEC so there is not necessarily a direct correlation between expenditures and on field success. Obviously these figures do not include under the counter payments to athletes. JK of course. We all know that never happens.

We can get by with this and still have 11 win seasons and an overall good program with Spurrier here. As soon as he leaves, unless we get a huge name ( which I hope we can), we will be in serious trouble. How we got this far behind is unacceptable. Perhaps we are saving so we can hire a huge name for 6+ million a year. Not sure....but how good could we be if we pumped the money into recruiting?

Vandy may be spending more than reported. Franklin left behind a mess in Nashville. USC's recruiting expenditures will increase as a result of the shift of coach to admin recruiting position. But maybe we need to add someone else in the Athletic Department as well.
