USC-UNC tickets range from $76 (upper corner, nosebleed section) to $257 for club seats

Ticket prices are so high both schools have got to get back the lost money from a home game.

This is not a lost home game for us. In the years when we play CU at home we schedule a significant away opponent. We do this for a couple reasons, first, We do not generally like to have 8 home games and secondly this allows to get a quality return trip from an opponent to WB.

If anything we are gaining an extra "homish" game and making extra money on tickets and TV.

It still makes no sense about the exorbitant cost of tickets but my guess is that most of that is driven on the Charlotte end. I can only imagine the gouging cost of a hotel room.

Haha, people complain that we don't do the things the big boys do. Then, when we do them, people still complain. I'm shocked!

The cost to schedule inferior schools is very high these days. Not to mention TV doesn't want it and the stands are half full. I bet we gain more from this than scheduling FAU or some other small program

If we were in the Chick Fil A opening game playing FSU wouldn't the tickets be much more expensive and the inconvenience more. We need to support this because of the excellent media coverage it brings that will advance the football program....Blow out the Tarheels and expand the hype for the Georgia game....

On game day and right before kickoff those ticket prices will crash like an 90s internet stock. If you really want to go stand outside with your hand up and bargain. If I was going that's what I'd do. I wouldn't pay anywhere close to face.

As for the opening game Thursday night game tradition, yeah, I'll buy that since we have so few. Just don't lose by thirty, bum out the fan base and cast a pall over Labor Day weekend.

Well I disagree. I listen carefully, and everyone associated with team refers to the panthers as the team for both states.

So then are y'all ok with South Carolinians being fans of Yankee/Midwestern teams like the packers, steelers, patriots, etc? I have no respect for those people. I was born and raised in Charleston, and panthers are the closest team geographically to where I'm from.

I mean, I root for the Burgh because of where I and my family are from originally. But for non-transplants, I don't give a crap how you choose your team as long as you stay loyal. Just seems to me as though SCarolinians don't get how that organization betrayed them and then turned around and tried to be all about "both Carolinas."

The fact that they're closer geographically has nothing to do with it. I've been in Columbia 90% of my life and my favorite team is 1,000 miles away. To each his own.

Amen.

Gouging??? When did football tickets become commodities?

I say again, if you want to go, go. You won't have to pay anywhere near face on the aftermarket. The face value is not the floor as it is with the SEC championship it's the ceiling.

"Yes, I'll have a date with the tv set that night."

Which is what most people who post here do. There was a thread last year asking, basically, who doesn't go to the games anymore. The thread was three pages long and contained many "famous" FGF posters. Most posters here do not attend games.
