** Chester (Va.) Life Christian Academy two-star Virginia Tech DT commitment D'Andre Martin has set an official visit for South Carolina this weekend.
Martin, who scheduled that trip prior to Virginia Tech's firing of Justin Fuente, is the lone official visitor currently scheduled for this weekend.
Many of you will remember that Martin was down to VT and South Carolina before ultimately choosing the Hokies this summer.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Martin is a postgrad prospect who was dominant at Carolina's camp this summer, adding an offer from the Gamecocks. He also gathered offers from Tennessee, Florida State and Virginia.
With the firing of Fuente, Martin becomes a heavy flip candidate to the Gamecocks and is officially put on 'commit watch.'
** The other prospect on Virginia Tech's commit list that we'll at least be checking in on is Midlothian (Va.) Manchester four-star RB Ramon Brown, who committed to the Hokies in July.
Brown took an official visit to South Carolina in June and, while things have been pretty quiet publicly since Brown pledged to VT, South Carolina running backs coach Montario Hardesty did go by high school during the bye week, a sign that there's at least still some communication.
Penn State, West Virginia and Maryland were also heavily involved prior to his commitment, but Penn State has two high-profile backs committed and WVU has a four-star RB commit in its class as well.
It's too early to say if there's anything cooking here, but we'll be tracking it.
