Even the chains have switched to romaine or loose leaf; both of those wilt when they get heated. I like the crunch of iceberg.
Ooh do I have the condiment for you. I made onion bacon jam last week.No green on my burgers! Cheese, mushrooms, occasionally bacon, caramelized onions, and condiments.
Put that between two slices of bread with pimento cheese and grill…….Heaven.Ooh do I have the condiment for you. I made onion bacon jam last week.
8 onions dice and caramelized(It took 4ever)
Then add
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup real maple syrup
1 cup brown sugar
2 pounds cooked bacon crumbled
Reduce til it is a jam consistency
Soooo good

I’m an iceberg guy, but it has no nutritional value, while romaine, etc. actually has nutrients.
Or maybe romaine is more expensive per case(fact), so they can gauge a little more?
Ohhhh, somebody wants to bang a drum.Because of this joke of a fake news fabrication called global warming. The entire west coast of the United States is in a heat wave crisis. The majority of iceberg lettuce in the U.S. is grown in California, and is being hit hard. Prices are rising on purchasing iceberg lettuce as a result, and that's screwing up the profit margins on fast-food processed hamburgers, that have to keep their prices controlled while using food components whose costs are skyrocketing.....
First there was the porcine epidemic diarrhea, and now this......
Glad I’m not the only one who envisioned this while reading the thread. The only real problem with the McDLT was the cheese was with the lettuce and tomato.

I agree. But with respect to the leafy greens, I'm going to cut them a lot. I eat a lot of salads at home. When I make them, I chop them. I love chopped salad.Iceberg on my burger.
Leafy greens for my salads.
I usually use a spring mix for regular salads. Obviously if I'm making my chicken caesar, I get romaine. I do chop it up more though.I agree. But with respect to the leafy greens, I'm going to cut them a lot. I eat a lot of salads at home. When I make them, I chop them. I love chopped salad.
So you are saying let us start a new thread?Slow sports time of the year. We're down to talking about lettuce.
Somebody needs to start a thread "What was your best drink of water?".
FIFY^^^^So you are saying LETTUCE start a new thread?
I’m not quite sure how to read this. Are you blaming the lettuce shortage on global warming or is global warming a joke of the fake news?Because of this joke of a fake news fabrication called global warming.
