Dawn never ducks anyone. This year we played 17 games against projected tourney qualifiers out of 26 games.

12 different teams from 5 conferences other than the SEC.

Throw in 2 tough games against LSU and game against Ole Miss(who by the end of the season was a top 64 team) and you see we had few cupcakes.

This should prepare us for NCAA. We have seen quality and diversity of style. There should be no real surprises

To pick on UCONN for a moment. They deserve to be a #1 seed. Take away their foray into the SEC; Ark. UT and the Gamecocks and what do you have? Three games against a projected #8 seed Marquette. That’s it! No other team in the NET top 50.

We are #1 in strength of schedule. That's why the RPI loves us. Carolina's opponent went 374 - 176.

Most people's brains can't get past UCONN beat South Carolina and the Huskies have a better record. Thus they should be ranked ahead of us. But the data suggests that UCONN would have had a worst record than us against our schedule.

Of course rankings don't matter much since we have a tournament. Thank goodness. So, like you suggest, we are fortunate to have played a tough schedule.

RPI is meaningless. It is not used by the NCAA selection committee anymore. The committee now uses NET (but only as a guide - not a rule.. I can't find my link to the NET SoS rankings, Sorry, but last time we checked, we were not number one. That was somebody like Ole Miss or Utah. Massey's (FWIW) does has our SoS ranked #6 - which is the highest of the top 16 ranked teams

Stanford's schedule is generally considered as tough as ours.

Stanford and UConn deserve to be and will be seeded at 1/2 above a four loss team. Period. We can only hope that we will be ranked 3 or 4 by the committee and thus be a 1-seed.

We will probably be the last team in the 1 seeds or the first team in the 2-seeds.

C'mon, man. NET is just as meaningless because A&M will get a 1 seed despite being ranked 12th. The committee will use NET only when it favors their seeding.

As far as "hoping" to be a #1 seed. It doesn't matter to me. I would just assume fall into UCONN's region.

Stanford's strength of schedule is 46th, btw.

I do not expect A&M to get a 1-seed. The order may be correct, but I expect the 1-seeds to be:

UConn
Stanford
NC State
Us
many people disagree about my prediction on NC State

Really doesn't matter between 1 seed and 2 seed this year because 1 seeds gain no geographic advantage. Every game is gonna be played in the San Antonio area. I won't whine if we are a 2-seed.

I don't care either. In fact, I wouldn't mine being the 2 seed in UCONN's region.
