WBB: Wilson and Staley lead USA to Gold

There is a reason why most discussions about the greatest coach in college history don't start or end with Geno Auriemma, despite having more National Championships than John Wooden or Mike Krzyzewski or Nick Satan or Bear Bryant. It is what it is.
You are right. And that reason is folks with very similar, outdated attitudes as yours when it comes to women's sports.

Look it's clear you don't respect women's sports. The puzzling part is knowing that, why do you continue to engage in posts about it? Just keep scrolling and let those of us who appreciate these athletes and coaches for the elite level they are on discuss.

So you think Geno is the greatest ever in all of college sports? Before Saban or Wooden or Bryant?

Staley is successful because she recruits at an elite level and in a league with only a handful of real contenders. Not taking anything away from her, but that's just what it is.

That's not how it works in men's basketball, football, or baseball. It's a different animal.
Do you realize you just described Dabo? Except there are no real contenders at all in his league.

I don't know if he is or is not. I do know he should not be considered not to be only because he coaches a women's sport.

Also, my comments about Staley being most successful athletics coach in SC state history is not confined to her success at Carolina. It rightfully encompasses her playing success, her Olympic success winning 5 gold medals as both a coach and player and her coaching success. We have no coach at USC that even comes anywhere close to her SEC success. For our coaches she is clearly in a class all by herself.

Why is those who speak the loudest are those who are uninformed. Dawn Staley success has everything to do with her providing a consistent and successful program and she made it a priority to get many of the top talent in the Carolinas to commit here.

While the elite talent has been plentiful in the past 3 years it is hardly the norm. We only had our first 5 star recruit in 2014 and despite that we still had competitive teams prior to then .
USC's Class recruiting ranking by year according to ESPN
2014-#2(half of that class transferred out)
2015-Unranked
2016-#11(half of this class transferred out)
2017- #10 (half of this class transferred out)
2018-#16
2019-#1
2020-Unranked
These are some pretty good recruiting classes but it's not like she's been pulling off top 3 recruiting classes year after year like some people in other sports. Also the SEC is one the best and most competitive conferences in the country, then you add in the fact that Dawn's likes to play a tough out of conference schedule consisting of top teams despite not needing the increased strength of schedule, that includes a annual game against one of the most dominant dynasties in all of sports. What she's done here in the past 10 years is something we shouldn't take for granted.

By your logic Saban isn't that great either considering that he regularly recruits #1 classes and most of his opponents aren't contenders for the big titles either.
