We are not close, but not as far as some may think. It's a monumental achievement that Beamer squeezed 6 wins out of the talent we have. We are going to get an uptick in our talent in the next class. If he can continue to win with less, it could shorten the rebuild.
Hope so. Still think the streak will hit 12 before we have a legitimate shot at winning this game. Our talent level will not be equal in the next 3-4 years.
At least 12, we are witnessing the longest streak that will ever be seen in this rivalry and we are in the wrong end!
Offensively, outside of RB, I feel like we need major upgrades across the board. We made tremendous strides defensively, though we aren’t where we want to / need to be. But we showed improvement. Next year we have to make progress offensively, period.
I think the only reason we may not be far off is because they are few “legit” teams these days. I think a very “above average” Michigan team is going to be ranked #2 this week. I don’t know if I’d even say that team is “good” in years past.
It’s going to be hard to build this program with Clemson and UGA competing for National Titles just a couple of hours away. We need to make progress as fast as possible.
You mean like beating an auburn team that should have beat #2 Alabama tonight ?

As fun as it was beating Florida and Auburn, both teams finished the regular season at 6-6. And one of them completely quit on their coach prior to playing us.
Take your own advice, don’t overreact to beating an auburn team without their QB and probably looking ahead to the iron bowl. You statement was somewhat contradictory?
Those will have to come from the portal because recruiting is basically wrapped and we got very little. But I don't see kids in the portal wanting to play for Satterfield or Adkins.
We are 6-6, however we are closer to 3-9 than 9-3. Beamer's first year went better than expected and I am happy to go to a bowl, but that was the worst Clemson team we're likely to play and we didn't even fight to win it. Say what you want about Auburn, but those kids put it on the line. Our kids played, but there is no pride.
If Beamer doesn't fire Satterfield, I doubt we get to 5 wins next year.
