He is resigning after backlash from the following statement.

"On-campus is declining and online is growing. If we don't get online right ... we have a trail of tears in front of us,"

It was determined to be an insensitive comment.

Who is he?

He is having to resign for a lot more reasons than one comment.

He has had a chaotic tenure since he was first hired. How he was hired was in question, and both faculty and student body were not in favor of his hiring. from the beginning.

If he did indeed make that comment, (and I can't find any links for that) it shows how oblivious he is in the position as a university president.

Well if you can’t find it.....just kidding.

I read a few articles in the Denver Post and Colorado Public Radio.

This is a crazy victim complex you got going on. Have you considered that these men are just bad at their jobs?

From wiki

In January 2021, the board of regents switched partisan control for the first time in 40 years, with Democrats in the majority.[34] On May 10, 2021, Kennedy announced he will be stepping down as President of the University of Colorado after the faculty on the flagship campus in Boulder issued a censure of his performance on April 29 2021.[35][36]

What a coincidence.

And I don't to hear any of this "victim complex" bs from the left. That's all we've heard from left for decades. And now all you see from the left is bullying and cancelling. 100x more viscous than the right ever thought about being, unless it's a Democrat. Then you get the Ralph Northam treatment. Anybody thing a Republican governor would get a pass on being in a picture in blackface with someone dressed as a klan member?

Using the "Trail of Tears" incident in that part of the country is going to raise some eyebrows. Not sure why he wouldn't use a more timely reference that would convey the same intended meaning. like the Bataan Death March.

Yeah, not any more insensitive than all the Nazi crap we heard from the left about Trump. And Bush. And McCain. And Palin.

Of course, like I said, it's only a problem if it's a Republican. If it weren't for double standards, the left would have no standards at all.
Sorry, but I was a Bush and McCain supporter and I remember no such comparisons. You seem to have as much of a double-standard as those you are accusing, as you are playing the "victim card" as much as you are accusing them of doing.

Then your memory is... convenient.

Moveon.org ad campaign.

Dem Sen Robert Byrd compared Bush to Hitler too.

MoveOn I pay about as much attention to as OAN.....none. Different sides of the same coin.

Byrd is a nutcase.

My point was that, even if a few fringe services did it, it wasn't common at all and wasn't widely disseminated. You pretty much had to look for it.

Does anyone know the political affiliations of the former presidents? I don't mean "suspect" but actually know. I don't which is how it should be. I'm an independent and would feel the same if this were a democratic governor that pushed through an unqualified candidate and threatened our accreditation. McMaster should sit this next hire out.

Wow! Your party is the bully of bullys. They bully people in their own party day after day. The so-called leadership in the Republican party is a bunch of crap right now. The bullying and the lies are out of control. I wish Republicans would wake the hell up before it becomes a full fledged Nazi type party.

Ridiculous. Democrats are actually closer with their socialist policies. Remember, Nazi stood for National Socialist.

The Republican party is very splintered right now, with several competing factions. It is very reminiscent of what happened with the old Whig Party. People tend to forget that the Whig Party was very popular prior to its fractioning, moreso than either Party of today.

Not surprised. He's a Republican. Should have expected to not be accepted in ultra lib infected "higher" education and should have known he would be under a microscope 100% of the time.
You're right. They should have hired a good solid Republican who served his country. I'm sure it would have brought honor and integrity to the University of California...I mean Colorado.

You mean the Insurrection Party?

I still have hopes for the Republican Party. Just need the Tea Party Populists and Moral Majority to start there own party...they are basically the same influence of the Know-Nothing/American party influence versus the pro-business and trade wing of the old Whig Party. The pro-business wing left to join the fledging Republican Party and the Whigs eventually died out.

I guess you never know but good luck with that. The current GOP is led by an unhinged loud mouth from GA and a guy from FL that is getting ready to go to jail for a whole lot of stomach turning things.

The majority of the country has moved center and center left in terms of policy. And is moving even more every year with the changing demographics of the country.

To me, the absolute crazy thing about the current GOP is that Trump gave them the ideal way out when he led the insurrection at the Capital. They could have rejected the attempted overthrow of the government and embraced some policies that are HUGELY popular with voters like realistic gun controls, advancing healthcare, true immigration reform that is not racist driven and infrastructure. Oh and yea....just make the slightest effort to defeat COVID.

But we all know how that went.

I agree....they have may missed an opportunity. For some reason a part of the Party still believes they can win on cultural/social issues.....they can't.

Expecting some Mexicans and central Americans to not illegally cross the border is not racist.

LOL. Overthrow the government. LOL.

I guess the BLM folks tearing down the barriers at the White House and injuring 150 secret service were trying to assassinate the President.

Step away from the CNN. And thank God every day that Joe Biden's fool ass wasn't in charge when COVID hit. He would have allowed millions more infected people flood the country because his woke decrepit ass wouldn't want to be xenophobic, resulting in far more deaths.

Once again you have bought into some serious faulty thinking. Pride will not let you see more clearly!

Pot...meet kettle

Expecting some Mexicans and central Americans to not illegally cross the border is not racist.

First...lets clarify.....people showing up at the border and requesting asylum is not illegal entry (as the former guy wanted you to believe) and their right to do it is protected by both American and international law.

Second.....people of all skin colors and backgrounds are undocumented here in the US. Your exclusive focus on the brown folks from the south is indeed racist.

But sneaking across the border is quite illegal.

And it is you that is obsessed with race. I didn't mention race, even once.

Why must every thread get hijacked? Caslen and Kennedy were not qualified or prepared for the job at large public universities. We had to hire a PR firm to help Caslen with public appearances and PR and he still flamed out.

You didnt have to.
I choose not to, but that is only natural since I am not deranged bigot that thinks people should be excused for crime due to skin color.

But we all know why your party adores the presence of illegals in the country. Of course, the big bonanza would be amnesty, but even if you don't get that, you assume that children of illegals born here will = votes in the long run. Plus, you currently get more House seats and electoral votes due to their presence. Wow! Talk about voter suppression of actual citizens.

You just enjoy that teeming, private migrant zoo that President Bidiot has going down there. Are reporters still not allowed? Apparently Vice President THOT isn't.
