per WIS in Columbia, 12 offers as of newstime...Army, Navy, Wake, Marshall, Furman among othersOriginally posted by aj&uscgrad:
I heard he has an offer on the table from Navy. That would be a pretty good place to go.
In effect that is basically what Lville has not he table for him. I first heard he had his offer removed from them... Not the case, they changed it to an offer to let him sign and count forward to their next class, coming in January of next year.,. Not sure a grey shirt offer would be real appealing from us...Originally posted by ReadR00ster:
I agree, Offer him! A grey shirt offer.

He may be a great kid but there's a reason these are his offers.
I love Spurrier being our coach, but can't say that some of the things you say are not spot on. One of the key components to successful programs is recruiting. All the greats are tops in recruiting, and if you look at the good recruiting teams, they have ruthless recruiters. They don't play those unspoken rules games like many coaches do. Miles, Meyer, Sabin, will text recruits while they are on a visit with you. Saban will eat gator with you in the bayou. Spurrier will regret his decision to not go hard after Muschamp.Originally posted by JoMo84:
Im old enough to know that we have been mired in mediocrity as long as I can remember. We dont take football seriously and it shows. This recruiting class is bad when u put it up against the likes of Auburn, Alabama, Florida St., and heck even Clemson. Spurrier was hired to elevate us and everyone thinks because we had some success over the last few years that everything is alright. Its not. Spurrier has run out of gas and is so stubborn he will not try to improve his staff because he doesnt care about us. If this was Florida he would have grabbed Muschamp or atleast Chavis. He doesnt care about us because he is not one of us. He is a gator at heart and i will be glad when he steps down. He has let recruiting go and he knows he is bigger than our university and we are helpless to do anything about it. You will have to have top 5 recruiting classes to get to the playoffs now..
If he thinks he feels bad now, wait until he shows up for spring practice in Birmingham!Originally posted by Rod Dangerfield:

He would be great for the jet sweep and the slot wr pposition. He's too small to be an SEC rb.
Yep being in the top 20 on a regular basis really sucks. Why don't you go over and tell those young men signing with us how bad they are and what a great fan YOU are.Originally posted by JoMo84:
No offense to the guy because he was done wrong by petrino but no we do not need to start taking charity cases. This recruiting class is already bad enough without taking on cases like this one. Obviously he wasnt good enough to get an offer from us and if he did he chose louisville and not us so no we do not need to offer him.
He's not getting bad PR for offering a gray shirt at the 11th hour, happens quite often across the nation at many nationally established programs. We signed Lorenzo Mauldin in 2011 when he found out at last minute his offer was converted to a grey shirt option by Coach Spurrier (of course this happened because Steve landed Clowney at Lozo's position but the class was full). Your beloved Coach Strong did this multiple times when he was at Louisville. He, like Petrino now, was even publically banned from a particular high school by an upset HS coach, Cincinnati Collerain if I recall?? Funny thing is, it didn't stop Charlie from recruiting kids from that school, he just bypassed the coach and went directly to kids parents.Originally posted by BattleshipTexas:
Really bad PR for Petrino. Who will trust an offer anymore?
