All very good good responses. At the end of the day no matter the season ending rivalry game drama the selection committee is going to pick the 4 best teams in their deliberations. Until they go to a conference champion only process for the top 4 this will never change.

They handed ND their only loss in South Bend. I realize that ND hasn’t beaten a ranked team outside of Wiscy, but beating ND in South Bend is a huge win.
One game shouldn't get you into the NC. That is why I like at least a short playoff.

If Bama beats UGA, the SEC will have two one-loss teams in the playoffs.

And looking across the rest of the CFB field, probably rightfully so.

It's easy.......if Bama wins next week it will be Bama, UGA, Mich and Cinn. If UGA wins then remove Bama and replace with Ok ST. (assuming they win next week). If Ok St. loses then it will be whatever team in contention pays the most to the committee.....who the hell knows???

This is exactly right. Except if Oklahoma State loses we know for sure it's Notre Dame.
