What is our single most glaring weakness on offense this year? What is our biggest strength

Weakness has to be WR.

Strength.... QB? (Hopefully OC is good for honorable mention)

I would have thought RB is our weakest link and the OL was our strongest part of the offense. But, I haven't followed this year's team at all. So my ideas can be thrown out the window. LOL!

Strength is QB, undermined by an offensive line that is going to have to prove it to me. Running back is a question, but no line play, no matter.

I’m not convinced that rb is a weakness...so far. I think Oline is key to moving the ball. Wide receivers/ Tight ends have to make plays. From all accounts, the offense seems to be excited about the scheme. We shall see in a few weeks.

Yes. Kevin Harris and Deshawn Fenwick should both be quite serviceable.

The weakness on offense is the lack of depth. I don’t know if we have serviceable backups at all position. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I think the starters will do fine but they won’t hold up through every game.

Biggest weakness: Will Muschamp.
Biggest strength: Mike Bobo telling Will Muschamp to shut up while we’re on offense.
That’ll be great if Bobo actually shuts Will Muschamp out of the offense, but I don’t know if we can count on that. Muschamp has destroyed 4 offensive coordinators so far, 5 if you count Roper twice. 🤔

Weakness is at QB - The two that’s slated to get the most snaps don’t have the mobility to extend plays and that my friend is a problem in today’s game.

Yep, it’s the kiss of death. In all seriousness, as been mentioned previously, the depth on the line is an issue. I hope the coaches prepare and rep as many guys as much as possible to get them ready to play.
If you’re counting on Wolford to coach guys up we are really in trouble.

So Saturday night Muschamp bemoans the play of the offensive line on another board. It may have been here, I missed it. Anyway, time and again this is a big problem for our offense. Add non mobile QBs, except the one moved to wide receiver, and it's not good. Why is this a never ending challenge for us here? It used to be both lines, but defense has had it's share of great players since the early aughts. We roll in a great o lineman now and then, but that takes a group. Frustrating.

Not seeing them play yet, I'll have to agree with you. This is one of Muschamp's weaknesses IMO. We have had an uptick in QB talent since Bentley, but I don't think we have recruited WRs to get full benefit out of the arm. I hope this changes quickly, especially if Stockton sticks with his commitment.

That’s not true. For a stretch we had olines that consistently put guys in the NFL, blocked for 1000 yard rushers and were among the lowest in sacks allowed. Of course people complained about those lines as well but it didn’t mean they weren’t effective.

Offensive Line has always been a struggle. I would not agree that our Offensive Line consistently put guys in the NFL.

Any improvement in offense will exponentially help the defense.
But I’m afraid there won’t be improvement.

I don’t think we’ve had a decent offensive line (not great, decent) since Marcus Lattimore left town.

We are as weak at WR as the Spurrier walk away season.

I think we should be improved at QB and have a little more experience and depth at RB. I don’t think it’s enough to offset our deficiencies though.

We had a coach with 5 guys drafted and a 6th make it as an undrafted FA over 7 years. That’s not a bad run.

Prentiss at TE? Thought he only played fullback. Interesting. I think a lot will depend on whether Muse is at or near 100 percent from his ACL surgery, and also whether some of the athletic freshmen we have can learn enough of the new offense to meaningfully contribute.

I have a feeling our WR corps will be significantly improved this year if it can stay healthy, maybe not top-half of the SEC better but not in the bottom quarter either, which is an improvement. McClendon had a number of WR groups at UGA that were highly regarded but dropped more than their fair share of balls; was a good recruiter but seemed to fall short sometimes in developing the significant talent he had. Cox has gotten solid reviews as a teacher, and in any event, I am optimistic that Bobo’s offensive scheme will put players in positions to be successful (he isn’t a flashy name but is solid, which we could use right now). McClendon’s playcalling defied logic at times, and at others was so grossly predictable that it killed any chance for our players to make plays.

By right, the OL should be the strength of the offense, but that should also have been the case last year. Wolford seems to say the right things, has a great reputation for developing talent and has recruited some guys, but his OLs haven’t performed great for us (I think I read in a story linked here that we had a low percentage of lost yardage plays but that that was offset by a lack of push for positive plays in the run game). I don’t know enough about football to determine whether the issues last year, other than the injuries that played a big role, were schematic or more on the OL’s shoulders. If the OL does its part this year, our QB and RB situations will be fine. Given our schedule, we may need more than “fine” to end with a winning record, but I do expect a significantly better offensive product on the field this year than last if for no other reasons than we should have better/more experienced coaching and hopefully a better conditioned team to avoid so many injuries.
