Has MBB been slighted from a facility standpoint? Has the University generally not supported MBB as much as other revenue sports?
Just wondering why he might be upset outside the obvious reasons we as fans are.

The kids now wouldn’t... because they wouldn’t be able to run the show and they’ll have to play defense. Why would a kid who is a really good basketball player, and just coming out of high school, want to play for Frank Martin?
Those numbers are based on tickets sold and not attendance big difference. Not sure exactly what he us upset about but if its attendance, he is seriously reaching.
In 2019/2020, UofSC ranked 29th nationally in basketball attendance with an average crowd of 12,180. Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky were the only league schools that averaged more and the SEC average crowd was 11,188...3rd out of all conferences. This was in a season with an 18-13 record and no post-season and was never ranked during the year.
Also, compare us in-state with Clempson. Embarrassingly during that time they had more success than us, going to the NCAA in 17/18 and being ranked in 3 of the 4 seasons (none for us). in 19/20 they averaged 6,832. Over that season, Carolina had over 90,000 more fans for basketball than Clempson.
We all know our women's attendance is off the charts and #1 every year. If you combine mens and women's attendance, CLA Gamecock basketball attendance for 19/20 was over 390,000....one of the best #s in the nation. There is strong basketball fan support at Carolina. This is also one of the main reasons why the mens team performance under FM has been so disappointing.
Now, I do agree the school needs to invest in basketball facilities both with amenity upgrades to the CLA and a first class practice, lounge, operations-type facility for basketball.

He has complained about fan support at games. That's the only thing I can come up with.

We have sunk below UGA in basketball!!!!!!!!!!!
What fans? Limited seating during the pandemic. He has complained about fan support at games. That's the only thing I can come up with.

Kinda but not really. A fan base could buy half the tickets every home game but have twice as many actual fans in the seatits still a direct comparison to other schools and leagues as everyone counts the same way.
Did you go to any of those games during final four run? I went to just about everyone of them. Beside Georgia game (which was parents week) I don’t think any game was even close to 13k.The 2016-17 season that went to the Final Four, USC set the program record for attendance with an average of 13,396 per home game. I think we've clearly shown that when you provide a competitive product, the fanbase will support you to unprecedented levels. In 2020 Frank Martin was the 19th highest paid MBB coach in the nation at $3.1 million, and 5th highest in the SEC after Crean (UGA), Pearl (Auburn), Barnes (Tenn.), and Calipari (UK).
He's demanded from the fanbase and the university, and we've responded. He needs to start responding to us a little.....
Without objection.Court will be named after Dawn.

Not this year but he has griped in the past. If you win, they will come. What fans? Limited seating during the pandemic.
Yes it is insane, during the final four season I was ten rows up most games because there were not a ton of people there most of the seasonThis is true from my experience attending games. I tried to move to a better angle so I asked about a certain section in the lower bowl. Was told all those seats were taken yet no one attends. WTF?

You mean why should we be upset at him?
I’m not saying anything besides it’s not an accurate estimate of attendance and I already showed how it can be terribly skewed. The excuses to put up with Frank are unreal. You'd think we're the only program in the country that had to deal with COVID and also the only program that counts ticket sold as attendance. Every program in the country does that for every sport, yet someone always wants to throw in an asterisk when it's proven we have tons of fan support. Heck, saying we don't support basketball is asinine when you look at the women's team. Do people not think the fans would rather go to a men's game if the product was worth a crap? We'd have 18k at every game if we had a decent product.

Our fan support in basketball (and marketing) is really poor, that’s not disputable. People only show up for Florida/Tenn when they are good. Kentucky (more Kentucky fans usually) and Georgia.
Even our Clemson game is underwhelming since it’s near winter break and people can’t be bothered to show up.
I was one of 3000 people present when the final four banner was raised, were you there? Do you know when it was raised? What team we were playing?
So it was our first home game since the final four and only 3k could be bothered to show upYpu make it worse for the rest of us. Putting with this precipitous slide. So you were there when we hoisted the FF banner - so what?

Florida was early in the year before people started bandwagoning
I remember every vividly hordes of fans being turned around during the Georgia game because the had not been all year and did not know the bag policy
I think it just highlights how much Usc fans don’t care about basketball if they say there were 11-14000 fans at every home game there is zero chance they attended a game in a very long time
To a point from a previous poster about facilities. They do matter. They matter a lot in recruiting. That is why you see football, and basketball, powers constantly upgrading their facilities. I don't know where USC ranks in regards to the facilities game. But recruiting is played on a lot of levels. That is one of them. And if you are at least not trying to keep up with the best that is out there you are sending a huge message that basketball at USC doesn't mean nearly as much as it may in other places
