Who do we finish this recruiting class with?

Seems like we are in good shape for Wonnum, Sandridge, Horn and Thompson. If we get them all, we should be ranked #10 - #15. It looks like a pretty solid recruiting class. Henry seemss like a long shot but if Muschamp pulls it off, we would be closer to #10.

Henry is likely out. What’s the deal with Wonnum, brother on the team. If he’s coming why not commit. I do understand it’s his own choice, but you are coming, come on. Spots are filling up,

Wonnum, Sandidge yes. Horn maybe, Pruitt was a great hire. Hopefully Gerald comes in also. Henry would be a long shot, and he’s being recruited as a hybrid LB/DL, that’s how we got Brad Johnson. We need a Top 15 class to make progress or Clemson and UGA will just pull further ahead.

Forgot about Gerald.

Wonnum, Sandidge, Horn, Gwynn, and Jackson.
Thompson if he qualifies.
The Official visit will be huge for Tindall, and the staff understands this, so I think we could regain the lead after the visit.

I've read we only have room for 4 more recruits, unless we lose or grayshirt some.

How was Pruitt, the 15th choice a great hire?

South Carolina is currently ranked #20 in that poll and #19 on Rivals. Most of our final players will be 4*.

Pray tell how you arrived at that. According to rivals you have 4 four stars and 13 three stars committed. The numbers are even worse according to 247, where you have only 1 player committed in the top 200 overall and only 3 four stars.

I was thinking Champ has said that he could only take 22-23 this year, would be a couple short of 25? Did I misunderstand?

I think 10th would be perfect world scenario but you have to remember that teams above are still going to get theirs. Then there are several teams below that are still going to sign their last run of 4-5*'s that hold out for the limelight announcements. You have Florida, SoCal, Clemson, Michigan and couple others that will make that year-end jump. If Champ pulls several more quality players then I would expect 15th being as high but also pretty respectable!

There's reading comprehension of a jawja fan. Most of final players, in other words most of the players left that we will get.

No, based on how you worded it above, the correct interpretation would be final players of the overall class absent a qualifier. Hence you clarifying or qualifying here 'final players we will get'. BTW, I'm an alum and UGA is a top 15 public university in the country, and was recently named as a public ivy. So you impugning a vastly superior academic institution with much, much tougher entrance requirements is akin to Rosie O'donnell snickering at Charlize Theron's temporary facial blemish.

Boasting your intelligence while not even able to read the original post and understand it or read the name to see I did not post it, impressive.

Ugh, UGA is a state university with almost 30,000 students. It’s an average university, just like most state universities. It’s a quality school. I’m not saying otherwise, but it isn’t what you seem to think it is.

I see, an average university...just like UVa, Wisconsin, UCLA, Washington, Cal, Michigan, and others are all large, average state schools/universities. You know, basically just like Rutgers or Western Kentucky.

It's not what I think it is; I'm going by what leading publications state it is. Also based on the quality of students it attracts along with staff. A 3.7 GPA and 1300 SAT gets you rejected from UGA these days, as 3.98 and 1390 is the current mean.

For someone with such impressive credentials, why do you struggle with reading comprehension? You must’ve been on the basketball team with the coach that gave his players tests with questions like, how many pts is a 3pt shot worth? What was that uga basketball coach’s name?

Wasn’t Fulmers 15th choice. He’s a great coach and a Saban disciple. If he can get out of his OC way I’m sure he’ll be successful.

How do you know he is a great HBC?? He has never been more than a coordinator...Pruitt may prove to be the greatest HBC of all time..But there is very little evidence to support that theory...Pruitt has been a great DC at every stop...But that doesn't always translate to HBC...We'll see how it goes...

My best guess is Fulmer will try to coach the team thru Pruitt...That could prove to be big trouble

I imagine trolling our site just to condecend makes you feel like a bigshit doesn't it...Shouldn't you be concerned about, oh you know, a guy named Baker Mayfield and a team referred to as the Oklahoma Sooners

We have good players and we need more ... Muschamp is doing a very good job on closing some gaps and working his tail off for these young men. I also like the fact he is going into NC and trying to get young men. To have the some of the top players in your 'pond' is a sign of progress. Now we just need to reel the big fish back home! lol

For a very good breakdown on how we should finish it is more on the points.. we are currently at 1622 points Rivals.com which has us around #19-20); again not bad and usually equals another 6-9 win season with a nice bowl.

But for baseline status wise we should stride for with >=2000 points every year. Which will give us (around) top 15 or higher finish. Top 15 or higher finishes would push us closer to closing the gap of Alabama(thank goodness we don't play them every year), Georgia and Clemson. [At least for the next few years Georgia and Clemson will be our toughest games.]

When UVA or Cal students get into squabbles like this with other fans, they don't include UGA in their list. And to be honest, I don't even know what your GPA and SAT scores mean anymore. They've been inflated so much over the years to make everyone feel better about themselves that they don't mean much to someone who graduated in the 90's.

Read it again never said great head coach I said he was great coach. DC Co. is a coach no? He is a great coach and he has the tools to possibly be a great Head Coach.

Looks like adding Wonnum, Sandidge, Horn and Thompson would add 500+ points.Of course, the recruiting specialists could be wrong with these predictions or we could lose a few commitments.

500+ would be very nice! And now you are starting to get it! :)

Thompson if he qualifies.

Thompson is interesting. If he qualifies, as you said, he might well be the best prospect in this class. Plus despite his academic issues he would still be an early enrollee.

But say he qualifies and signs with us. Do we still have room for Horn? We have 3 other db's already committed.

Do you do a best player available thing and sign him if he wants to come? Think because Williams has to count on this year, we can only sign 24? That means we can only take five more out of Horn-Wonnum-Sandidge-Jackson-Tindall-Thompson. Well unless one of our current guys flips or someone doesn't qualify. Plus I forget the names, but there are at least two more OL we are involved with besides Wonnum.

You do realize that school rankings like the ones you reference are just ADVERTISING, right? Colleges PAY those publications to rank them higher to get more people to enroll... but hey if it makes you feel smart, go ahead and quote them.

It is akin to quoting a McDonalds add as proof that the Big Mac is the best hamburger in America. JFTR

I already knew how Rivals ranks. Just making a prediction on how our possible final commits would affect our ranking.

Ok...as one who lives in Virginia, the only school that is better than UVA in the SEC is Vanderbilt and not by much. UGA and UF are close to UVA and UNC academically, but we are not there yet and have a way to go to get there.

They need to move MCG to Athens.

Auburn, Alabama, Miss St and Ole Miss will now match Georgia instate tuition for GA residents. I found that very interesting.
