Who is the next big recruiting get?

Some believe you need 3 or 4 per class at a minimum. Clemson got into trouble early in Dabo's career for only recruiting 2 to 3 per year.
I tend to agree. You should sign 2 tackles, 2 guards and a center. You need 8 guys ready to go play at any minute. We have no guys graduating and played a lot of sophomores this year. We have a lot of work to do on the line.

Depends on what year they are. It generally takes longer to develop offensive linemen.
Agreed.

We’ve seemingly always been in the position of having to play some OL before they were ready physically to play.

As an example, IIRC Garrett Anderson was 16 when he signed, 17 when he got on campus.

He was logging starting time early, but at most SEC programs he would’ve sat two or three years until he was physically ready to play.

The OL we have committed may turn out to be great players, but some of our “fans” need to realize they’re behind the curve and will take time to develop.

James Pearce...4* DE Charlotte
Ramon Brown..4* RB Virignia...currently committed to VT
Stone Blanton..4* LB..Madison MS
Dominick James..4* DL..Bradenton FL
Reading his comments about all the school he’s considering it look like he will be a gamecock. Just my opinion.

We desperately need to grab 3 OL. 2 is the minimum for this class. 3 would be ideal.

Are we talking about signing 3 more OL? I ask because we already have 3 committed so far in this class.

Now that's a fact! Though such does exist, it ain't like that many true freshmen and softs even start for The Bama's, UGA's, etc., in The SEC. Pretty much the same in the big 10 and 12 as well IMHO.

Sounds unlikely, hearing we may get Max Johnson and his brother Jake would come along. They'd be better for the lockerroom than Rattler, I think.
So I heard Spencer Rattler IS visiting this week, so we might actually have a shot here, regardless what the common wisdom and grapevine whispers were before. I was intrigued but again concerned about the attitude, but I stumbled across this video from earlier in the season and it opened up my mind on what kind of teammate he can be. If we do manage to get Rattler and Johnson, we immediately would have one of the deepest QB rooms in the SEC and is have to feel good about whoever rises to the top, no matter if it's a transfer in or a guy already here. Doubt we get both, might not get one but we're giving ourselves a chance.

The more the merrier. It’s the most difficult position to evaluate coming out of HS and into the SEC fire. Bring in 5-6 and sort em out.
But 15 already on schollys. Lots of heavies riding the pine. Got room for 5+ more?

Then you haven't done your research. And, all you are doing is perpetuating the myth that it takes at least 3 years to develop an OL in the SEC. The truth of the matter is that it depends upon the player. the blocking scheme, and more importantly the level of coaching they receive when it comes to them being ready to play in the SEC.

The blue bloods in the SEC are Bama, UGa, LSU, and TAMU. Their OL depth charts, both starters and backups, are sprinkled with FR and So.

Bama - starting 2 SO with a FR backup
UGa - starting a RS/Fr with 2 RS/FR and 1 FR as backups
LSU - starting a FR and a SO with 2 RS/FR and a SO as backups
TAMU - starting 2 FR with 2 FR and 2 RS/FS as backups

The next big recruiting gets are the following:
1. New Offensive Coordinator - We all know the reasons why!
2. Max Johnson - Big brother Max will convince WR prospects to USC.
3. Jake Johnson - Little brother Jake will be starting TE next season.
4. Stone Blanton - Fill position of need Middle LB for next season.
5. James Pearce - Fill position of need Edge DE for next season.

Umm.... OK! Look Lakecock, you're awesome as far as I'm concerned, hence I stand corrected!! However, I stand by the fact that WE NEED BETTER OL's!

I don't think there is a fan on the site who would disagree with you.

Always room for more. Especially when,
I’m this day and age, kids leave at the drop
Of a hat.

You'd think Shane would be wise to avoid that. 😳
The teammates said different things about him, Caleb Williams said "go be great" when he announced his transfer, the whole point was that the narrative around him might be BS, as narratives so frequently tend to be.

Jake wouldn't start next season if we pick up the transfer from OU who was coached by and has a great relationship with Beamer.

edit: Jake not Jane, OU not LSU.

I agree, but without a better QB, it won't matter.

Without a QB that can make a DC pay for blitzing, DCs will always bring more than the OL can block.
