Why can’t most women dunk the basketball?

If Spud Webb at 5’ 7” or Muggsy Bogues at 5’ 3” could dunk, why not women over 6 feet tall? Is it mostly a strength to weight issue or is there some lack of training or desire?

The reason I mentioned desire is that even some tall men don’t dunk because they dominate at their height and don’t put much effort into training. JMHO. YMMV.

Why? I enjoy both. But I enjoy the women's game largely because to me it still seems a game built more around fundamentals and teamwork. I suspect more would dunk if it struck them as something they found worth striving toward. Maybe in the future they will.

And, come to think of it -- how many Mugsy Bogues and Spud Webbs are there out there dunking.

Did Mugsy dunk? I can't remember. He probably could tho.

The average woman in America is 5'4. The average man is 5"10 and dunking is still extremely rare. I'm average and could barely touch the rim.
