I read an article today where in Oregon the schools are suggesting that we focus less on “getting the right answer” and on students “showing their work”.
That being said, if this new and reasonable suggestion on changing society spreads as quickly as some things did last year, we could say that scores involve getting the right number of points and having to win on the field is like having to show your work.
We can apply “ethnomathmatics” and challenge the ways that scorekeeping is “used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, and racist views."
If Georgia and Florida aren’t imperialists I don’t know who is.
