Well as you all know he committed to Clemson tonight. If you've been paying attention I advised that this was coming. Let me start with the obvious misinformation that some on here have been passing along. To say he never wanted to attend USC is downright a lie. USC actually lead for him up until last week. He actually has some people very close to him that were absolutley pushing him to USC. He loved Stepp and he loved Beamer. So where did it fall apart. Well to keep it short, the answer is Satterfield. Williams was not trying to dictate or make Beamer fire Satterfield. He simply wanted to play for a competent OC. His thought process was, why are other schools making changes but USC is not. Why does Beamer have to wait until after the bowl game to fire the worst OC in the nation. What would waiting until after the bowl game prove? What difference will Satterfield make in a bowl game when he's been terrible all year? So, the fear was Beamer is saying there would be change but won't actually pull the trigger. Clemson told him about Elliott over a week ago and laid out plans for if he stays and if he leaves. They also reminded him of Dabo firing Napier when he didn't like the direction of the offense. The message there was Clemson would not be waiting to fire someone who performed as badly as Satterfield. He appreciated the up front honesty. They also sold him on the incoming 5 star they have coming and this year and the belief they will have another one in 2023 that will shock the nation. His fear is not only Satterfield but the QB room and his belief that no one currently in the QB room is any good.
As far as canceling the inhome visit. Some will not like this and it could have been handled differently but it simply boiled down to, he didn't want to hear the same recruiting pitch for the 100th time when the one question he truly has USC will not give a clear and concise answer.
In short if Satterfield was fired already Williams would have committed to USC. Beamer's hesitancy to fire Satterfield for whatever reason is what killed this recruitment.
Side note for those that follow. If you remember I told you about Rattler over a week ago. If DTR returns to UCLA, then USC becomes the leader for him. Remember I told you Oregon, UCLA and USC were the three after ASU turned him down. Now all eyes are on DTR.
