Wasn't Spurrier the first college coach to break the $2m threshold at Florida? I think he was the highest paid coach in the country at that time, so that would give you an idea of where that same guy would be on the pay-scale today.
Of course, all of this was before Saban came along and convinced fans everywhere that there is a guy out there who can win them a national title every other year. haha. However, I suspect if there was a young Steve Spurrier coaching at Florida today, Saban would have at least a couple less rings than he has now.
