Can we go ahead and prepare ourselves not to be shocked if we lose to Wofford tonight? We are playing a game that is against a team that put up 17 runs on 19 hits last night. I don't care who the other team is, that is getting it done. Wofford has been a nemesis for us in the past, although I am hopeful we can pull out a win, don't be surprised if they do the same thing to us tonight. They should be receiving an NCAA bid in a few weeks.

With our hopes of going to the tournament all but gone, can we go ahead and start giving some of the guys who will be around next year extra looks/opportunities?

Maybe we can just go ahead and pitch 'Koop tonight on short rest and try to at least win *this* game.......

Im counting on Wofford having a let-down today after such a big game yesterday.

I've been in Greenville the last couple of days,

That's definitely a possibility . I was in Spartanburg and went out to the game last night. Although the Terriers were hitting well, tonight will be their 5th game in 7 days, according to the Spartanburg sports talk

I doubt anyone would be shocked, but that won't make it any easier for them to stomach it.

Baseball scholarship= FREE college. Just saying. I think many people would love to enter the real world with no college debt... Just saying.

The NCAA only allows 11.7 baseball scholarships per team that can be divided however each program wants. Furthermore, a team is allowed to have 35 players on there roster but only 27 can be on scholarship. So that means 27 of your players are splitting up 11.7 scholarships and 8 are walkons. Nobody in college baseball gets a full scholarship free ride.

Most baseball players are on partial scholarships, not the full ride you just implied.

Well the preacher kept right on saying that all I had to do was send ten dollars to the church of the sacred bleeding heart of Jesus located somewhere in Los Angeles, California and next week they'd say my prayer on the radio. And all my dreams would come true. So I did, and the next week, USC scraped by Wofford. Thank ye, Jesus. Thank ye, Lord!

Not true at Vanderbilt. They are a private institution and can come up with all sorts of ways to provide each and every player on their roster a full scholarship.

Real world is 27 players split 11.7 scholarships. So by what math do you get that any college baseball player is getting a full ride? Some may be getting help from other sources like Pell Grants or in state players from the lottery scholarships, but most still pay a fair amount for their schooling.
