I can’t believe this hasn’t been posted here yet (unless I missed it). Looks like a strong possibility that Wolf is heading to Ky.

Yep. It was talked about on another thread.. Heard about it on the radio earlier. I always thought he was going to be this fantastic coach but our OLs have not been impressive under him for the most part.

Best of luck at UK. The O line run blocked better, possibly more from Bono’s run scheme this year but the pass blocking has been consistent trash for years. He should have been gone last year.

I am in the minority I know...but I like him. I would want him to be retained even though I know he won't be.
I think he's a perfect fit at UK if he goes there...and I bet he will stay there a while as long as Stoops stays.
He fits their style and will recruit well up there in that region.

I think its hard to judge the capabilities of coaches on staff due to the way they recruit. I really feel their mentality was, we cant get the top tier guys so lets hurry up and fill our quota with developmental players. How has that worked out for us?
I think you're right in a lot of cases. I've heard one college coach call it "lazy man's recruiting" one time.
(paraphrasing) he said...some guys just wanna go have some fun on the road, get out of the house....sign a guy who physically looks like the next 4 guys you will see...because (those coaches) think it's all a crapshoot anyway. Nobody knows what a kid will do while on campus; will he work? Party? Is he lazy? Will he be OK or the same as he was when living at home. So they roll the dice on those players 200-1,000

??? Who? Elliot? No. He knew the scheme he brought from App State (his first time coaching OL). That scheme was built to run a particular offense....the read option, which we chose to run. Prior to that offense, our lines were heavily criticized.
He was here from 2010 to 2016. During that time we consistently had 1000 yard rushers and 3000 yard QBs. He didn’t coach towards read option but he did instill zone blocking schemes. There is a reason the offense had success with Garcia, Shaw and Thompson who were all different QBs and whether it was Lattimore, Davis, Wilds, Miles, Maddox, Dowdle, Carson or Williams the running game produced. He taught fundamentals and had a scheme that could be adapted to guys strengths. It’s a world of difference between what we saw before he got here and since he left.

We had HUNT!!! Would've rather kept Holtz's OL coach, who was actually good. Lattimore was creating his own holes and many of our backs were dodging tackles in the backfield. Thompson ran the same zone-read that Shaw did, just wasn't as good a runner. Elliot was not that good....he was fine for the system he brought in. And of those listed, only Lattimore and Davis had a 1,000 yard season.

Sources: Kentucky is hiring South Carolina offensive line coach Eric Wolford as its offensive line coach.

Expected be announced in the near future, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Line play has been very inconsistent under Wolford. The 2018 group was a solid unit, and played well for the most part. The 2020 group had some downright dominant run blocking performances. But he never produced the relatively steady play Elliot got from his group from 2010-2014, which is disappointing.

He's a good coach. Run blocking was on point. Our QBs over the last few years have done nothing to help their O line. Slow guys, rarely ran, held the ball too long, etc. QBs who can move make their O Line look great. We haven't had one since Shaw.

The one thing consistent around here is that we never seem to have a offensive line with talent. Sure we have one here or there, but never as a group.
