WTF drug was Kiffin on?

Ole Miss could not run the ball when it mattered. In big boy football against a quality opponent you best be able to do that. It cost them several games they could have won. The difference between good and great isn’t much.

I think Kiffen knew that they couldn't stop Texas Tech and he had to really get out of the box to keep up. Didn't work. And they had a game, a lot of it due to Texas Tech, where anything that could go wrong seemed to. Sometimes you have nights.like that. TT was just the better ball team

He relies too much on analytics and not enough reliance on common sense.

Maybe he means the 4th downs. Kiffin went for it on 4th down a bunch last night, including inside his own 15.

I think it was a throw away game he treated like practice. With all the opt outs and bowls being "meaningless", I think he was just screwing around.
I believe that you are 100% on the money. Urban legend has it that, a week or so, before every bowl game, Bear Bryant would have his seniors vote on whether they wanted to win the bowl game or, have the best week of their lives. Either way they voted, Bryant guaranteed they got what they wanted.

His contract had him getting extra money for every non-conference Power 5 win he got, so I don't believe for a second he was throwing away that money for practice.

He is an overrated hype machine. Nothing innovative about going for it on 4th a lot. Been tried before, and there is a reason coaches figured out it is a bad idea.

Your last sentence was a mouthful. Biggest difference being quality depth

He’s known for often going for it on fourth. Don’t know how much that has to do with his style or his defense

I think he is talking about the accusations he made against a player for the opponents. Put forth some allegations that probably are not true. The opposing coach went hard against him and so far there no witnesses to the matter that support Kiffin. He got beat and couldn’t keep his mouth shut? Maybe more will come out about the supposed incident.

This was over the top a bit though. Seemed odd.

Like I said, it was not only quantity bit he even did it inside his own 15.

College football is most always a "who you know" business. Shane Beamer wouldn't be anywhere near a HC job, or even an assistant, if his last name wasn't Beamer and his dad hadn't used contacts to get him jobs over the years. Just like any business, the connections are more important than anything else

True. A saying about "glass houses" came to mind.

I will say that Kiffin knows his offense. His team finished the regular season in the top 10 of offenses, which is a lot more than we can say. And his "failure" of a record is the same as the one we are saying is a success for our team.

Kiffen is a real good offensive mind. The wheels sort of came off for them after they lost a game they probably should have won against Bama. I don't imagine this is Kiffens last stop. In a lot of ways Ole Miss is a lot like USC. Can be decent every year, and be able to have a special year every now and again. But neither is going to be able to recruit at a level high enough to be elite. Now Kiffen did use his early season success into Ole Miss giving him 9 million a year as he no doubt waits to see if he can be the next guy at Alabama when Nick finally retires.
