If only there was some reasonable way for them to figure out who was better between Michigan and Michigan State… Like say a game they could have played against each other? Why even play the games at this point?

When an undefeated Oklahoma is behind FIVE teams who are toting a loss and only one of those five plays a noticeably more difficult schedule than them… We have a problem.

Cinci is undefeated but being held back by close WINS while Bama (said one loss team from above who has a tougher schedule than Oklahoma) has a loss and multiple wins that were closer than they should have been against mediocre teams… So of course Bama is #2, Cinci is #5 because… Umm.. Because… Saban? History? The Simpsons predicted it? 🤷‍♂️

I have historically been against CFP expansion but if this is the best these morons can come up with, we SHOULD go to twelve teams just to ensure the teams who get jobbed by the committee still have a shot to prove it on the field because this selection process is absolute BS and someone ALWAYS gets jobbed! As long as we leave all of this up to subjective choice by a bunch of meatheads, it will be a problem. I have never understood people being against automatic qualifiers for conference champions- that is truly the only way to make it better. 12 still feels like too many, you could do 8, include conf champs from the P5 conferences and have 3 more at large bids beyond that to make people feel better who are concerned about that odd occurrence where a really good team loses their Conf CG But still deserves a shot, or to include a G5 team or two if we have some great ones that deserve it.. Regardless, this system of selection is garbage and it always will be as long as we leave it all up to people.

This all means nothing until after the regular season ends right? Wrong. These early rankings set an anchor on teams who should be ranked higher. If Oklahoma wins out but most the teams ahead of them do as well, they cannot get in (in theory- obviously some of those teams ahead of them will play each other… of course wins and losses don’t seem to really figure in so WHO KNOWS!). The early ranking mistakes can come back to haunt teams- we have seen it before.
