I realize it’s irrelevant either way, but ffs why not keep us from having a 0.

Explain how we win with a td in that situation? Down 3 td’s with 5 seconds? Just saying 3 is better than 0. Obviously you prefer the shutout.Down 3 tds beer gut would kick a field goal instead of trying to win. Sounds like you think like him. I'm glad he's gone. A loss is a loss.
Walt Disney struck gold with his investment in Florida swamp land some years ago. You never know, right? 😂Can’t wait to contribute to Garnet Trust. I’m a sucker for bad investments.
Maybe the shutout will motivate the players going forward.....I posted this in another thread…kicking a FG there would’ve been flat out embarrassing. It’s just something you don’t do. I’m already embarrassed. The shutout was embarrassing, no doubt. But a FG as time expired to lose 30-3 would actually be more embarrassing than playing it out and losing 30-0. The shutout is just a statistic. All that really mattered was a win or loss. But we kick that FG…we lose our dignity against our rival.
Capitulating to Dabo and letting him spend the rest of his life talking about the time he shut out the Gamecocks is the real “b” move.Kicking a field goal there would have been such a little b**ch move. How do so many folks here not understand that?
Absolutely true. But if 0 or 3 is an awful performance, isn’t 3 or 7 still an awful performance?I can see the validity to both sides of this argument, but in the end 0 or 3 is still an awful performance.
It's not capitulating. It's running the offense and trying to score a touchdown. Not kicking a meaningless field goal for the sole purpose of being able to say we didn't get shut out.Capitulating to Dabo and letting him spend the rest of his life talking about the time he shut out the Gamecocks is the real “b” move.
Swinging😂😂😂Nah. Go down swinging lol. A field goal would have had our own fans booing.
You just answered your own questionAbsolutely true. But if 0 or 3 is an awful performance, isn’t 3 or 7 still an awful performance?
It's a meaningless touchdown. So your point isn't as logically sound as you're pretending. It's not capitulating. It's running the offense and trying to score a touchdown. Not kicking a meaningless field goal for the sole purpose of being able to say we didn't get shut out.
“Trying to win?” Lol. There were 5 seconds left in the game. Kick the fg avoid the shutout and give Parker a shot at the all timeDown 3 tds beer gut would kick a field goal instead of trying to win. Sounds like you think like him. I'm glad he's gone. A loss is a loss.
Parker probably does not want his record setting FG to live in his mind that it was “achieved” against Clemson in a blowout loss. That memory would suck for years to come.“Trying to win?” Lol. There were 5 seconds left in the game. Kick the fg avoid the shutout and give Parker a shot at the all time
Scoring record
The probability of a first down or TD was close to zero. The probability of making a FG to score was closer to 100. How do so many folks here not understand that? The goal is to score points. Not go for an impossible TD. I guess a ridiculous play to end the game makes you more of a man than taking the points. Whatever.Kicking a field goal there would have been such a little b**ch move. If you believe that, you haven’t been a Carolina fan very long.Maybe the shutout will motivate the players going forward.....
And I would have booed that decision myself. I haven't booed anything down there since Brad was coach.Nah. Go down swinging lol. A field goal would have had our own fans booing.
Well said, at the time I didn't agree. I'm glad our coach showed class.I posted this in another thread…kicking a FG there would’ve been flat out embarrassing. It’s just something you don’t do. I’m glad we didn’t kick it but I think our dignity was already gone unfortunately.I posted this in another thread…kicking a FG there would’ve been flat out embarrassing. Maybe /= I believe. Just throwing out suggestions/possibilities based on other posts. If you believe that, you haven’t been a Carolina fan very long.
Same as me.😁Maybe /= I believe. Just throwing out suggestions/possibilities based on other posts.
The first Carolina football game I ever attended was the 1968 opener vs Dook. 53 years a Carolina fan strikes me as a long time.
