The 1-2 duo of Rico Dowdle and Tavien Feaster is off to a nice start in 2019, and Mon Denson along with true freshman Kevin Harris turned in strong performances in game two against Charleston Southern. Three of the names on that list are seniors this year, and along with Harris, the only possible scholarship returner to the roster for 2020 is Deshaun Fenwick.

As such, South Carolina’s staff continues to peruse the recruiting trail in search of a potential second back to pair with Rivals100 selection Marshawn Lloyd.

Here’s a look at some of the names to continue tracking.

Tank Bigsby: Yes, at one time he was essentially a silent commitment to the Gamecocks. Auburn and Georgia both made big runs, and he pledged to the Tigers before the 2019 season after a close race down the stretch. Auburn helped itself by getting off to a solid start this year, but this is still one we will keep an eye on given the position that South Carolina was once in for Bigsby.

Henry Parrish: This Pittsburgh commitment is a sure bet to jump into the Rivals250 upon the next rankings update. He recently turned in a 324-yard performance on the ground and has great tape early in his senior season. The Gamecocks extended an offer not too long ago. Parrish told Rivals.com recently that he planned to take an official visit to Columbia and pegged his team’s bye week as a possibility. That date would not work out, as the Gamecocks are at Missouri during that weekend.

Still, we anticipate that Parrish will make his way to Columbia at some point for a visit; he’s a player USC likes a lot.

Marvin Scott: This Florida product committed to Nebraska, but there are indications that he’s still open to hearing from others, including South Carolina.

Jahmyr Gibbs: He remains committed to the in-state Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but Gibbs has given multiple parties reasons to believe that he’s still looking. South Carolina is one of them; Gibbs has reached out to the Gamecock staff in recent weeks. We’ll see where things progress from here, but it’s a safe bet that Gibbs will end up taking some other visits.

Zaquandre White: A name that will be new to Gamecock fans, White is a former four-star prospect who signed with FSU in the 2017 class and spent some time in Tallahassee. He transferred early this year to Iowa Western Community College and is in search of a new home at the Division I level. He’s had a solid start to his season; in his past two games, he’s gone for 245 and 102 yards, respectively. USC is showing interest and has been in touch.
