I saw this column and felt compelled to read it, give the handful of threads which have either focused on Fuentes or mentioned him.

As a teaser, here are a couple of quoted lines from the piece;

First, don’t hire your friends for critical positions that may require dismissal and replacement.

He most definitely didn’t live up to the “skilled, innovative Offensive Coordinator” thing. In fact, he was the albatross around your neck that doomed your tenure.

The assistants do the football, and your assistants weren’t all that good at the big picture, either – some are better than others.

Go be an OC for a lower tier team that needs an experienced coach but can’t afford one.

It seems that a number of the themes we've seen discussed surface throughout. Maybe we're not that much different than some of the other hot messes out there?
