The litany of woes this program faces glide across these pages in waves day after day. Any coach that wants to sustain success will have to be here ten years to understand it all and fix it, then the real work starts. Just ask Spurrier, who aged out. Ask Holtz.
So this is what we should do. The test of Beamer will be if he learns. Can he understand and fix problems? Can he face down the demons (a little post Sunday church language) of a South Carolina football program.
Ray referred to such an approach with Muschamp but that was not possible because we knew he did not like change much before we hired him.
Beamers young. If he proves he can learn and face down the myriad challenges here one by one, give him a long term contract and settle in.
This is a mess. It's described here daily. No real fix will be quick or sustainable here. Look at history, listen to yourselves, be realistic.
