--Of South Carolina’s 61 drives this season, 17 have ended in scoring: 14 touchdowns and three field goals. More drives have ended in three-and-outs (22) than in points.

--Texas A&M was able to put up 17 unanswered points because it wore down the Gamecock defense. The Aggies were on the field for 42 plays in the second half and put up over 250 yards. They held the ball for 19:23 over the last 30 minutes.

--Twelve newcomers saw playing time: Javon Kinlaw, OrTre Smith, Shi Smith, Jamyest Williams, Dennis Daley, Brad Johnson, Keisean Nixon, Eldridge Thompson, Aaron Sterling, Caleb Kinlaw, Sherrod Greene and Chad Terrell. Javon, OrTre, Shi, Williams and Daley all started.

--Williams had a career high 10 tackles, which led all defenders Saturday. He’s on pace for 62 tackles as a freshman.

--Through five games, T.J. Brunson is leading the Gamecocks with 46 tackles. If he keeps this up, he’d finish with a team-high 110 tackles. He would be the fifth player since 2000 to lead the team in tackles as an underclassman. Rashad Faison, Ko Simpson, Emanuel Cook and Skai Moore were the others.

--The Gamecocks were 2-for-13 on third down, converting a season-low 15.4 percent of their chances. It’s the lowest third down conversion rate since also going 2-for-13 against Georgia Oct. 9.

--A thin offensive gave up a season-high seven sacks Saturday with five coming in the second half. It was the second time in seven games Bentley was sacked seven times. The last time was against Clemson No. 26.

--Both OrTre and Shi Smith started Saturday. It was Shi’s fifth-career start and OrTre’s second in as many games. They combined for six catches for 114 yards. Each caught a touchdown pass. It was Shi’s first as a Gamecock and OrTre’s third in three games.

--The Gamecocks rushed for a season-low 23 yards, aided by minus-56 yards on Bentley’s sacks. It was the lowest rushing total since they rushed for 23 yards against Florida last season (Nov. 12).

--A&M was able to impose its will in the run game in the second half. The Aggies ran the ball 31 times in the second half for 162 yards and two touchdowns. They averaged 5.2 yards a carry as opposed to 4.2 in the first half.
