Joe Manchin made it clear he isn’t voting for the bill. That isn’t particularly interesting considering polls in WV show that 75% of registered voters are against the bill. Here’s what is interesting; there are 6 other democratic Senators that were all grateful to Manchin for holding his ground. They didn‘t want to vote for the bill either, but were in a variety of bad political situations where they needed party support, essentially being held hostage. They didn’t want to vote. Joe was the guy that could safely stand his ground regardless of the flashback from the party.
