My little girl is getting prepared to finish her work on her mission to Mars, which has been a huge success. Prior to this mission, Kelly worked on the Cassini Huygens mission to Saturn, engineering Saturn Orbital Insertion over a decade ago, all from the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, Ca. She will now continue working on the Europa mission to Jupiter's moon. Both my wife and I are beside ourselves with pride, so please excuse this little bit of bragging. Kelly gets her brains from mom, but I still like to think that I contributed, somewhat.
What makes us even prouder is that she has competed with the MIT's of the world, Cal Tech and others, for the opportunity to work on these missions. Her undergraduate degree came from none other than that little state university in South Carolina, "The USC!!! So let's not allow anyone to tell us that USC is just average. JMHO
