Just checked with Rivals new state rankings, and our primary recruiting areas outside of SC are NC, Georgia and Florida. Some stuff to chew on:
Georgia has 42 four and five stars. We have Josh Vann committed and are seriously in the game with Dylan Wonnum and Jaycee Horn.
Florida has 73 four and five stars (including XT & Stephon Wynn at IMG). We have 0 commitments in this group and are not seriously in the running for any of the others.
North Carolina has 15 four and five stars, and we are very high in the mix for Rick Sandidge, and perhaps Jovaughn Gwyn.
South Carolina has only four 4*s, , and we have one commitment in Dakereon Joyner, and have a decent chance at Channing Tindall.
In summary, including our state and the three states we strive to recruit the most outside our own, there are 144 four and five stars, yet we only have 2 commitments, and are being seriously considered by 5 others. These 7 are less than 5% of all the four and five star recruits in the 4 states. We must do better in the upcoming classes if we want to play with our rivals on a level playing field.
