Many national pundits proclaiming SB as a bad hire last year were the same ones who picked a UNC win for their lock of the week. It makes me mad. Somehow when Penn State beats AU it is a testament to their greatness. But when we do it is because AU sucks. We’re still talking about the same AU that took bama to the wire. Same thing goes for UA’s narrow win over UF early in the season. Everyone dismissed it as a close contest of champions. But then we beat UF, and it is because they are collapsing. Then with the bowl win over UNC it is dismissed as trickery and game planning but not a reflection of USC strong future under Beamer. BTW -All 3 of these teams were nationally ranked at some point and did not fundamentally change by the time we won. … We also need to remind everyone that we scored more points against UGA than anyone other than UA and UT. Not even UM scored that much.
Bottom line - The national pundits are FOS. There are also a shocking number from the state of TN (Mike Britton, Braden Gall, Steven Lassen, Paul Finnebaum, Chris Lowe). This might explain said FOS. Just can’t listen to them.
Remember- - We are SC strong and SB is a force of destiny who players and coaches want to follow. We don’t need old trophies to have a great future. If we believe it, great things will come.
