Sometimes teams win games they should have lost. Like Clemson last Saturday and Sunday.
I don't see many double digit games for us in SEC play. We will have to win with pirching and defense. I hope my fingernails will last the season.

Yeah - UNC-Greensboro scored 24 runs against Michigan State last weekend. We needs some good situational hitting this year to help our 2nd and 3rd game starters.
And with Johnson and Hopkins out, margin of error gets tighter.
Got outhit 9-3 by a rust belt school who's baseball field is surpassed by most of SC's high school fields. And they laid down a sacrifice bunt that resulted in their 2nd run.

Turning point
Stokes finally got South Carolina in the hit column when Stokes lofted a high fly ball into the wind in the fifth, the homer giving the Gamecocks a 2-1 lead.
This won't be a good hitting team all year. We just don't have that kind of talent. We have defense and pretty good pitching.
I hate to see our fans go after one another. If we know it is a Clemson fan on this page...let's kick them out. If they really are a Carolina fan...let's not insult one another.
"Into the wind" means that the wind is blowing in toward the batter. "With the wind" means the wind is blowing out and away, carrying the ball. Track sprinters also have to understand this concept. Chad alluded to the wind blowing in from leftfield after the game.

In the baseball terms, when you hit the ball into the wind, you're lofting the ball in the wind to help take for a ride... Getting up into the jet stream... Even the guys on the radio said that home run was assisted by the wind...
What you're saying is the Stokes hit the ball against the wind...
Stokes can't hit a home run without help from mother nature or short porch... He has no power behind his hits...
