As Chris Clark reported last night, South Carolina was originally scheduled to have an in-home visit tonight with linebacker target EJ Lightsey but that visit is now off. All signs point to Lightsey heading to UGA.

Shane Beamer and Clayton White are scheduled for several big stops today at schools of underclassman targets, starting in North Carolina.

That started this morning with a stop at New Bern, the alma mater of running backs coach Montario Hardesty, and current home to 2023 DT Keith Sampson, who has the Gamecocks in his top five. Jimmy Lindsey was also scheduled to meet up for that stop.

From there, the coaches will head to Rolesville where they'll meet up with Justin Stepp since that's the home of 2023 four-star WR Noah Rogers.

Stepp is also scheduled today to check in on Cummings High, home to 2024 four-star WR Jonathan Paylor. Rogers and Paylor both have offers from South Carolina.

Beamer and White, however, will head up north to St. Joe's Prep, which is home to 2023 four-star LB target Josiah Trotter and 2022 signee Keenan Nelson Jr.

Those two will hit several DMV schools on Friday.

** South Carolina offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield is in Georgia today to check in on schools like Marietta, Hillgrove, McEachern and Walton, among others. He'll be back in South Carolina on Friday.

** Offensive line coach Greg Adkins is scheduled to be in Alabama today, checking in at Northridge, Thompson, Vestavia Hills and Mars Hill.

The Gamecocks have an offer out to Northridge 2023 OL Wilkin Formby and there are several other o-linemen at those schools that have been receiving Power 5 interest.

** After hitting Miami on Wednesday, Montario Hardesty will be in Charlotte on Thursday to check in on Charlotte Catholic, Charlotte Christian, Providence Day, Independent, Chambers and Myers Park (shoutout Jaylen Nichols).

From a running back perspective, you'd imagine the key guy to watch among those schools for the former UNC Charlotte assistant is Chambers 2023 four-star RB Daylan Smothers, who has long been a priority for the Gamecocks.

But there are also several targets at those schools at other positions including four-star QB Jadyn Davis, three-star DB Chris Peal and 2024 targets WR Jordan Shipp and TE Jack Larsen.

** Tight ends coach Erik Kimrey is scheduled to be back in Georgia today where he'll drop in on several schools including Brookwood, home to 2023 four-star QB Dylan Lonergan.

The Gamecocks also have a reported offer out to Central Gwinnett three-star LB Denzel Moore.

** On top of the above mentioned stop at Sampson's school, Jimmy Lindsey will hit some other eastern NC schools like Jacksonville and West Brunswick before crossing back into SC and hitting Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle.

** New assistant coach Sterling Lucas is in Charlotte today where he'll check in on Hough, Mallard Creek, Hickory Ridge, Chambers, South Meck and Ardrey Kell.

The Gamecocks have an offer out to Hickory Ridge four-star WR Christian Hamilton.

** Originally in this space yesterday, I had written that Pete Lembo would be in Maryland on Wednesday. Lembo was actually still in Virginia yesterday and is set to hit Maryland today before going to the DMV with Beamer, White and Torrian Gray on Friday.

** Before heading to the DMV Friday to meet up with the other coaches, Torrian Gray is in Jacksonville today.

He's scheduled to drop by Andrew Jackson, Trinity Christian, Westside, Bolles, Bartram Trail and Fleming Island.

As far as DBs go, the Gamecocks have an offer out to 2023 four-star DB Sharif Denson, who recently visited.

Andrew Jackson 2023 three-star LB Grayson Howard has also been a frequent visitor at Carolina and has been a priority target for the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks also have an offer out to 2023 TE Connor Cox and of course four-star RB target Treyaun Webb.
