Marcus Satterfield coming up at 12:30 p.m., Clayton White after that around 1 p.m. Should have some interesting tidbits to pass along. Updates will be in this post, so all you have to do is refresh it.

--Reiterates they want to have a starter "sooner rather than later" but mentioned they want to give it time to see how Noland's reps shake out and what they see from Brown, Gauthier and where Doty is.

--The scrimmage was one of Jason Brown's better outings. He was more efficient and protected the ball better and he's gotten better with the more reps he has.

--Said "practice is everything" but understands there are guys out there who can flip a switch mentally and physically when the light goes on.

--Said Brown now is much more confident coming out of spring with his offense. Getting his body right way imperative for him.

--Asked about cutting down on turnovers, said from a coaching staff perspective to continuously harp on it. Mentions over the last 10 days or so (he knocks on wood) the offense has done well "flipping that narrative" and make smarter decisions.

--They've had to scale back a little bit recently now that Satterfield knows the strengths/weaknesses offensively. That's natural at this time of year for every team.

--Even though they're not scrimmaging this week, said competition will still be rampant in practice. They do good on good work even during in-season time Tuesday and Wednesday.

--Said they've started doing a little bit of work on Eastern Illinois this week but this week will be focused mainly on South Carolina. They'll go full bore on EIU starting next week.

--Kevin Harris looked good in drills today. Still doing non-contact work.

--Emphasis on the offensive line has been in pass protection. They're going to give the offense a chance in the run game, but the focus in improving now is on pass pro.

--Mentions the running back spot is a "unique situation" and trying to give each guy who's competing and performing well in practice a shot on the field. "You slip one or two days in that room you can go from one to three or one to four real quick." Said he doesn't want to be the guy who feeds the hot hand. They want to have a workhorse or a rotation of guys in each game plan.

--Jenkins is "getting back day by day" and the hope he's ready next week. They're trying to be cautious and make sure he's healthy.

--Gamecocks will have to stretch the field vertically. After the first scrimmage they were hard on the offense and they did much better creating explosive plays. They are "definitely, definitely, definitely" going to put guys in spots to go down the field. Guys made some plays in 7-on-7 work today, which was "good to see."

--Said there's "not one play on the board" yet for EIU. They have idea of what they'll face and what they'll see but the game plan gets built over the weekend.

That's a wrap on Satt.

Clayton White

--They've started to dive into EIU and into the personnel, but they'll focus on some of the stuff they see this weekend.

--From an identity standpoint they're not there yet but still have two weeks to go. He understands things won't be perfect. They want to see a group of guys out there flying around to the ball and playing hard.

--Trying to get on schedule every week from identifying guys in specific packages. They're on their way to feeling good about who's going to log the most snaps. Said the depth chart and rotation are pretty set at this point, if everyone stays healthy.

--Asked about Cam Smith, said he hopes a guy can practice Tuesday and Wednesday work in heading into a week and that goes for any banged up guy. Still day by day on if he'll play.

--Spaulding was dinged up last week and Carlins Platel can be one of the starting 11 if guys are dinged up. Platel needs to get back in shape.

--Alex Huntley's grown a lot since the start of camp and shown the ability to make some plays. Mo Kaba and Debo Williams have grown a lot as well.

--Tyrese Ross is "solidifying" himself as one of the two or three safeties who will play. Jokes he's "a little hit or miss right now" but one of the hardest hitters on the team. Now it's about getting him fully immersed in the system.

--Alex Huntley's done a good job taking coaching and applying individual work with team and group work. He does a good job applying the meeting work to the field and things he has a "good future here. I like Boogie a lot."

--Said it'll be a "normal operation" from a communication standpoint defensively. He'll be on the field during the game making the calls.
