For the first time in over five years, South Carolina's coordinators will be made available during a game week. Satterfield and White expected to meet with the media around 12:20 p.m. We'll have the updates here in this post, so all you have to do is refresh it.

Satterfield first.

--Mentions going with Zeb was about him playing clean football. He executes the offense and making sure guys are where they needed to be and putting the ball where it needs to be.

--Typically scripts 10 or 15 plays but it can be off if there are a few situations that can make things go off script.

--Said Brown is an ultimate competitor and will continue to compete. If he does earn the chance this week he'll play Saturday. They'd like to get him out there and have him play some against EIU.

--In terms of from EIU said the size from the defensive players is up the team looks quicker with a sound scheme. Said they want to eliminate explosive plays and will give offenses a chance to nickel and dime a defense without giving up an explosive play.

--Really wants to play clean football Saturday. Understands there will be some mental errors given a new scheme and new players, but wants to see guys play clean with no procedural penalties or mess ups.

--An explosive play will differ from OC to OC and from different levels of football. Satterfield considers explosive plays a pass of 18 yards or a rush of 12 yards.

--Trae Kenion is mature in terms of his approach. He's going to play Saturday and has a chance to have his role increase as the season goes on.

--At the end of the day they should have an idea of who's going to start at running back. All will have a chance to play and they're excited about that group.

--Said he's not going to hold anything back offensively. They're 0-0 and they haven't "earned the right to hold anything back." They're going to run the plays they've been running all practice.

--Thinks they can be very creative with the types of quarterbacks, Dakereon Joyner included, and the tight ends/receivers and running backs they have.

--Satterfield "loves fullbacks." Mentions in this day it's more of an H-back and tight end who can play in the backfield (mentioned Jaheim Bell and Trae Kenion).

--Takes "a ton" of input from the offensive coaches and staff in building a game plan. Mention different guys have different ideas from third down to red zone and they bounce ideas off of each other. Said they have a lot of guys with different backgrounds who can help.

--Can't wait to get going and doesn't take for granted the fact he's one of only 14 guys with his job in the country.

Clayton White now.

--"Game week for the Gamecocks." Hoping guys can control the emotions and play well.

--Main thing from EIU is the overall improvement from the spring season to now. They do a great job with the quarterback run and escapability. Said their running back is a "horse" and they have to contain him.

--Cam Smith has been great being back on the practice field and being a great leader so far. Got to get him back in shape but looks good.

--Said it's hard to trick Zeb Noland cause he is a coach and been hard to trick. Has played at a high level and at a lot of snaps.

--Wants to see the defense fly to the ball and having crisp operation from a play calling and signaling standpoint.

--They have a planned rotation at linebacker. Mentions they have three guys they want to play and would like to get five guys in there at some point if the game goes right.

--Not going to put pressure on any player Saturday. The pressure comes in practice and they want guys to have fun out there against EIU.

--David Spaulding is like a coach on the field. He's come in and play well. He's got length and size and speed that helps in the secondary.

--Zacch Pickens has "taken it all in" from a development standpoint. Called him a great player who's getting better every single week. Now it's about taking practice habits and technique and translate it to the game.

"If he does that he's going to be one of the best defensive tackles in the conference."

--Not going to open up calls. Said he has staples from his defense that will be called but he has nothing to hide from anyone.

Pete Lembo celebrity appearance.

--Said he's so appreciative of being here and ready to get rolling. Said there have been great days with "awesome highs" then humbling times where they're reminded it is a process.

--With limited special teams reps and meeting time, it takes a little bit longer to get to "critical mass" to get 80 guys on the same page from a special teams perspective. He attacks that every day and thinks they've been moving forward.

--Said if they can play clean football, that'll be a success.

--Mentions there are veteran specialists (led by Parker White). White's been a great asset this fall. White had some class conflicts in the spring but have really developed a relationships. Kai Kroeger handles himself like a veteran on the roster. It's an "excellent group of guys." They're getting used to having hands-on coaching in practice. They're engaged with the entire practice and the rest of special teams.

--They're going to continue to develop the entire group of returners because they'll have to use different guys because of injuries, opponents, workloads, etc. They want to continue to develop that group and they want good competition day in and day out with them.

--Reliability is very important for holder, long snapper and the entire special teams roster. "Is the same guy going to show up every day?" Matt Bailey is long/short snapper because he's the most consistent and most accurate. Kai Kroeger is a "fantastic holder." Joked he's the second best holder in the country behind the guy who won holder of the year at Memphis under Pete Lembo. Jokes he wants to keep Kroeger humble. There's a good comfort level right now with Kroeger.

--Field goal unit has "exceeded my expectations so far from their maturity, their focus" and handling situations.

--A good team can put out a "number of guys" at the gunner spot on punt. That can be in a game and week to week. They cross train those guys to be corners on punt return as well. Defensive backs, receivers and running backs will be there.

--In between the bowl game at Memphis and getting to Columbia, he watched Juju McDowell's HUDL and watched him return kicks. Said they were "hopeful" they'd see that and he'd show he could return kicks once he got to campus. He's been "solid" so far in camp, but Wednesday was a downtick day. He's "earned a lot of trust both as a running back and returner."

--They have a small corps of guys who are key special teamers but wants to grow that group over the course of the season. That will also happen next spring, next fall camp and into next year as well. He knows it takes some time to create a special teams identity.

--There's a fine line you walk from a creative standpoint schematically. Said because of limited reps in practice it's hard to rep. They'll have a core set of scheme from a foundation standpoint and tweak it maybe week to week. Said it's hard to walk in on a Tuesday and install something new before a Saturday game.

--Wants to play the best guys but knows guys can get tired if he's the kickoff and field goal guy. That comes with knowing the player and communicating with them.

--Mentions Alex Herrera's had a good camp. Said he could factor in as well this season.
