I put this as a reply in another thread but thought more may be interested in this as a separate standalone thread for people to refer back to:
History recap - We average around top20 talent year in and year out.
The KEY thing to note is getting (> 2K pts) / 10+ 4* guys, multiple years in a row, to reach the top of the mountain. ('07 and '09 ended up being a very good a few years later; '14 and 15' ended with Muschamp best year at 9-3)
We are no longer in the basement, now on the floor... next step to get to the ceiling!
(Or how Lou used to say, "We are not where we need to be, but thank god we aren't where we used to be".

*Footnote - Yes, I know transfers do not count towards the rankings and other teams have transfers as well. While the 2 transfers help us greatly here and we are trending in the right direction; just how the final numbers would be if we included them? See below as an example:
Stogner (4* | 5.8 | = 105 points)
Rattler (5* | 6.1 | = 150 points + national ranking #13 = 67 points; 150+67 = 217.)
Additional total = 217+105 = 322 Additional points | 1633(current ranking) + 322 = FINAL TOTAL = 1955.
Which would put us around ~=#12 (but that is not counting any other team using their transfers as well.)
But I would be safe to say we are around #15 ranking now. Granted the final is in Feb so plenty of time left to finish this class out.
