Here are my thoughts.....
Marcus Satterfield indeed was brought into a tough situation but that is not the time to implement a complex offense that takes a season to learn properly. This is on Beamer as well. The fans have totally lost confidence with the offensive coordinator and this will effect recruiting. While Beamer has plenty of time before next year, find a new OC who will at least bring some confidence back to our team. This needs to be someone who can bring the offensive coaches together as well as recruit at least to a minimal degree. The most important part by far, is he needs to be able to coach.
Continue to recruit and get to at least to a level where we can win 6 games and compete for a bowl. Other teams have been successful without having top tier recruiting classes. There are many more 3 star and below in the NFL than 4 or 5 stars. There are plenty of players to field a good team with a membership in the nations top conference.
Beamer's main strength is his leadership skills, the ability to bring people together and motivate and his recruiting skills. He still has these despite the season he is having. He may struggle in bringing in elite 4 and 5 stars but he can still find very good players, particularly with his geographic range. All is not lost. I see a formula for success. There are major disappointments this season, but it is not totally unexpected.
