    I see Div 1 football splitting. P5 league and lower league, whatever they want to call the 2. Schools without the money won’t have to cancel football, they’ll just compete on a smaller level. Years from now when only ESPN/ABC show the SEC games I’ll reminisce of hearing this tune on Saturdays

    I’m pretty sure the attendance for that game was more due to it being the first ever event at the arena, and that admission was only $1 so fans would come out and see the new place

    I didn’t realize the NCAA scheduled March madness sites so far in advance. They already have the next 5 seasons booked. I would love to see them come back for 1st/2nd rounds but it won’t be until at least 2027. They typically pick one site in the Carolinas. Next 5 years is 2022 Greenville 2023...

    I just wish they would use the arena for hockey. Would be awesome to get a hockey team back in the city, and even though it’s way more than ever needed it would provide a place for the USC club hockey team to play that has more than 100 seats like the Plex

    I think the article has it wrong. I remember the original agreement being 2007 and 2010. We were supposed to open with UNC in Columbia in 2010 but ESPN wanted them to play LSU in Atlanta. So we got southern miss on a Thursday night instead(Lattimore’s 1st game) and wouldn’t get the home game...

    Was going to point out that they are not selling any in the upper deck (at least that I’ve seen). My guess is they won’t consider opening the uppers unless they sell out the lower bowl. It’s crazy how far we’ve come in the drop in demand. I think about how hard it was to get a ticket to that...
