Just committed to play football and baseball
He's a 3 on Rivals but was an All-American and has a nice offer list so seems underrated here. Two 4 star Lb's in less than a week. Keep it going
Is he a 3 or a 4 ? Doesnt really matter. Glad he is coming here.
A Boost for the defense, and a Boost for the rankings!!!😎Yes Sir.... Welcome Stone... This Is Great News!!
Yep. Our last 3 HS commitments need to be on the offensive side of the ball.Nice couple of pickups...now to get a few more wr's.
Marcus Macbeth (spelling)?Nice pickup!
Please don't take this negatively, but when was the last time we had a successful two sport athlete? Bruce Ellington? And he eventually quit basketball. It seems these guys generally aren't able to do both, and end up not being very good at either.
Extremely hard to do both and excel. Heck, it's extremely hard to play 2-way just on the baseball field in college.Nice pickup!

Yep! Will likely fall a little when some of the powerhouses leap-frog us. But should stay top 20. Shane is doing well on the recruiting trail. Go Cocks!Sitting currently at 12th in the Nation in recruiting
Our LB had girth and made tackles but lacked speed, the backups had speed but lacked girth, give these guys and the backups some time in the S&C program and it will be good.It was obvious our LB tried really hard this season, but we needed some more talent there. Our coaches know that, and have jumped on it hard. Really excited to hopefully see some great LB play again for us.
Honestly, if talking 2 way for football and baseball, I'd have to go all the way back to Sheldon Brown. And before Sheldon, we have to go all the way back to Rob.Marcus Macbeth (spelling)?
Maybe he can prove me wrong, but I feel like in today's modern college athletics, truly being a 2-sport athlete is almost impossible and the attempt usually does not end well.Just committed to play football and baseball
Jeff GrantzNice pickup!

Well if it doesn't work out, he will probably stick with football I'm guessing, just because he gets a full scholarship. Baseball doesn't. But I'm not going to say it won't work before he gives it a shot. I'm sure he's a helluva football and baseball player to accumulate the offer list he had for both.Maybe he can prove me wrong, but I feel like in today's modern college athletics, truly being a 2-sport athlete is almost impossible and the attempt usually does not end well.
We've had 2 pretty good ones since him. Rob DeBoer and Sheldon Brown.Jeff Grantz
The "Girl" knows; she always knows. We've had 2 pretty good ones since him. Rob DeBoer and Sheldon Brown.
Agreed. The football season starts first so they play football and miss fall baseball. They are way behind when baseball season rolls around. It takes a special baseball player to jump into baseball late and make some noise. I'll be pulling for him.Well if it doesn't work out, he will probably stick with football I'm guessing, just because he gets a full scholarship. Baseball doesn't. You just miss so much time doing both. In the fall while playing football, the baseball team has fall practice. It's where positions are won and lost. In the spring while baseball is being played, football is in spring practice. For the guys you're competing against, their sport is a year-round thing. You have to be superior in talent to overcome the lost practices and repetitions. It takes a very special type of guy. Not saying Blanton isn't or won't be, but he's got to beat some very long odds.Maybe he can prove me wrong, but I feel like in today's modern college athletics, truly being a 2-sport athlete is almost impossible and the attempt usually does not end well.
Even John Rhys Plumlee was basically a backup guy for Ole Miss Baseball.Agreed. The football season starts first so they play football and miss fall baseball. So very true. Honestly, the last true 2 sport athlete that made a splash in both his sports was Bo. And his career was cut short. I still say he's the best ATHLETE I've ever watched. You just miss so much time doing both. In the fall while playing football, the baseball team has fall practice. True. We have had quite a few that have excelled at Football and Track & Field over the years.Troy Williamson - Football and Track & Field
100% agree. So very true. Honestly, the last true 2 sport athlete that made a splash in both his sports was Bo. And his career was cut short. I still say he's the best ATHLETE I've ever watched.
Yes. I think D. Byrd also ran track. Not quite apples to apples.Troy Williamson - Football and Track & Field
They were indeed good. Suppose I was thinking more of my "favorite" one. We've had 2 pretty good ones since him. Rob DeBoer and Sheldon Brown.
