We got 6 inches of snow here in Erwin TN...I haven't check to see how much Boone got or Gatlinburg...I'm sure those towns were hoping for a lot due to the ski lodges...I'm just happy with what we got because 3 days ago it was in the middle 70s...

About 6 inches in Northern VA area. 2-3 inches more expected. Heavy wet snow, so potential tree damage is possible. First meaningful snow in 4-5 years.
You have to do like me and create your own luck. Just take a trip in the middle of winter somewhere when you know it’s going to snow.
I always take a trip to see it once a year. I realize most years I won’t see it.
Erwin TN, the first and probably only town to sentence an elephant to death by hanging.

There is another cam, but it's not functional...Maybe there is no one there to fix it, students are not back yet...it's in the science lab...I'll keep checking in and when they have it up, I will send the link...
That sounds right. Seems like it snowed a little in 2016 or 2017 but just a dusting.
That snow in 2014 was at the end of January or beginning of February. I remember because I had just started a new job and got 2 days off. I had a 4WD Jeep GC and I was able to drive around where other people couldn't get their cars out of the driveway.
I won't live in an area where snow does not show up in winter....I'm a huge fan of snow...
I'm like you when it comes to snow. Never lived where it snowed a lot. Until we lived in St. Louis. And the people there HATED the snow. But it stirred something primal in me, like this is what winter is SUPPOSED to be like. Don't care for below zero temps though. Learned to dress in layers and wear a hat over a ski mask. And good gloves. Got used to it. Even today, as long as it's above zero I don't think about it.
