Weather terrific.

Wife and I spent the early morning on the lake. Then drove down to campus as we often do on Saturdays to get in our steps for exercise. Walked through the library again, been a few decades since I had been at the underground levels. That was pretty fun showing my daughter around who is trying to decide where she will attend college after next year.

Tried to entice my son to come down and join us as he's a Junior now but he is there enough during the weekdays, so he wasn't interested which wasn't a surprise.

Ended up at Soda City and bought a cool album for my daughter and ate some great tacos and chips. Soda City was absolutely packed. But it was fun.

Campus looked beautiful and lots of families were out taking tours. It finally looks like they are getting south Main St close to completion. That's taken way too long.

Another great looking Friday and tomorrow is supposed to be outstanding.

Heading down to campus today to eat lunch with my son.

I encourage any grads to get out and walk around campus this weekend. It's a lot of fun.

Are we allowed to go into campus buildings even though we arent students anymore?

if they are open you could probably just walk in. I went into the business building once down there while walking around- just walked around the 1st floor. Even on a Saturday, they had some students working on some projects in some of the rooms.

I tried to go into Gambrell but it was locked up- at the door I tried. The physical sciences building was also locked - the entrance on South Main. I wanted to go in there because my son has several classes in there.

I haven't even tried to check recently. My wife and I go down to campus almost every other Saturday to walk around, and we always end up over on Main St. to check out Soda City and then eat lunch over there.

The Russell House was open this past Saturday morning (as it always is on Saturdays when school is in session) - and I showed my daughter the dining area. When I was a student, that was "The Grand Marketplace" cafeteria but now it's 4-5 or so different restaurants.

You have to show an ID and sign in to walk into the library as a visitor. I took my daughter into the library last Saturday and took her downstairs to show her some of the study rooms I use to hang out in. They've updated those and have a lot more of them now.
