I think the networks will throw enough money to make them go to 9. But some friends claim that 8 will be it because 9 would keep too many SEC teams out of the playoffs.

12-team playoff provides a greater margin for safety and SEC SOS will carry a lot of weight. It won't be eight. Trying to sell less conference content than our peers ain't gonna work financially. Sankey sees it; in time - not too much time - so will others.
