Just got off the phone with Brett Thomas's high school coach, and my thought process on where he ends up doesn't change. My prediction right now is that he'll end up at South Carolina unless something crazy happens.
In terms of Thomas, he's been up to 96/97 mph on his fastball (sits probably 94-95) with a curveball sitting 80-82 with some serious downward movement. His role is TBD but his coach seems to think Thomas could go out and start this season or be a back-of-the-bullpen arm.
I'd tend to go with the latter of those two but there's a possibility Thomas could start, especially in year two or three of his career if he gets to school.
We'll have more on him (and Brennan Milone) the next few days with the draft starting tonight.
