A question for those that attended the USC vs UGA game in 2014.

Was the atmosphere for that game as good as the 2012 UGA game? I only got to attend about 3 or 4 home games last year because my buds couldn't attend any games last year and without them football is not nearly as fun.

But, the 2012 USC vs UGA game was one of the best atmospheres I have ever seen in my life, if not the best since I started attending games at WB in 1971. And I enjoyed that game as much and in some ways even more than I did the Bama game of 2010. Because, the UGA game of 2012 was played on Saturday night when the Gamecocks are at there best and the Cocks had the Dawgs number from opening kickoff til the final whistle blew

The sting from the Texas A&M game was still there and we weren't rated No.6 and UGA No. 5 at the time. It was an 'I hope we can win this' vs a 'lets kick some ass' attitudes....

No, for some of the reasons stated above. Also, there was the lighting delay which caused the stadium to be less than full at kick-off. The pre-game was totally wiped out. After the game got going the atmosphere was pretty good. In 2012, the 1st Quarter was like dynamite in the stadium as we exploded to a 21-0 lead.

It was a good atmosphere. However not many games I've ever been to can compare to the '12 Georgia game.

I wasn't there for either one, but it's obvious that the 2012 game was special. It's no knock against the 2014 game to say it didn't compare to 2012 - very few other games come close either. I suspect it's no stretch to say the atmosphere in that stadium that night was among the all time great college football atmospheres anywhere. I think Brent Musburger and Kirk Herbstreit would agree with me.
