But I do have 100 years of football and how many times have we finished in the top 4? I'm just playing the odds that we have to work with presently. If you were being honest you'd admit that you don't know that.

I means I taper my expectations based on the most likely outcome, and don't have unreasonable expectations that are literally pie in the sky for our football team.Ok. Play your odds. What does that do for you? Have fun!
Lol. Because the OP asked what MY pods would look like. I'd rather see WVU in the SEC than Texas. I don't think it's a good idea to bring a team into your conference that is primarily responsible for destroying their last conference. They appear to be a cancer. Why is West Virginia in this list and Texas is not?
What makes you say they destroyed the big 12?Lol. Because the OP asked what MY pods would look like. I'd rather see WVU in the SEC than Texas. Add Ok St.,Who’s the next school?
why stop at 16
I get it now. Texas was the big dog over there and they knew it. They would not be in the same position in the SEC. SEC is the big dog and they would have no problem showing Texas the door if needed. You see all the hand wringing and groveling in the big 12, but do you think the same would be true of the SEC? I say it would be no more of an issue than Bama is now. Texas would have to win several national championships to even sniff that level.Lol. Because the OP asked what MY pods would look like. I'd rather see WVU in the SEC than Texas. I agree. I think one of the main issues with the Big 12 and Texas is that the league balance of power was way out of whack. UT was by far the power broker in the league. Everyone else (including it seems OU) was too weak to challenge them so they got their way. Also, poor leadership in the B12 office.I get it now. Texas was the big dog over there and they knew it. I am hoping in whatever form this takes, they do away with all together permanent opponents from outside your division or pod. It is impossible to make this fair across all teams and its another area where we always seem to get screwed. Us playing Arkansas every year and now A&M every year did not and does not make any sense.Geographically:
Far East
SC
UGA
UF
Auburn
Ridge:
Bama
Tennessee
Vandy
UK
River:
Ole Miss
MSU
LSU
Arky
Not in the Southeast at all but we want your money:
A&M
Texas
Mizzou
OU
Have 3 permanent opponents (one from each other pod) and rotate one other team from each other pod each year. That allows you to keep rivalries like Aubun/Bama, build other rivalries that make sense geographically, and also get to play all the other schools every 3 years.
I like the last pod with newbies. Just wish Ark could be included and get back to playing its old SWC/B12 rivals. Ark is probably looking at Texas/Ok additions as Xmas and birthday combined in July.Geographically:

As a Carolina fan I agree, but the problem will be teams like Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, etc. Auburn is natural rivals with Georgia and Alabama. Georgia is also rivals with Tennessee, Florida, and us. Florida and LSU have a rivalry. Alabama has Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU. You know they will want to continue those rivalries. Of course Georgia will end up with Vandy, Arkansas, and Central Missouri Southern Technical Institute (the SEC will say it's a schedule quirk).I am hoping in whatever form this takes, they do away with all together permanent opponents from outside your division or pod. Texas offered A&M a home and home after they left and they declined.Wasn’t it Texas that refused to keep playing A&M?
This is the lineup I am hearing.South Carolina
Georgia
Vanderbilt
Florida
Tennessee
Alabama
Auburn
Kentucky
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss State
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
Arkansas has been promised to be in the Texas-OU pod. A&M will probably be thrown a bone and not be there. Ole Miss and Mississippi St have to be in the same pod. Auburn and Alabama have to be in the same pod. Here are mine:
Pod 1-LSU, Texas, A&M, Oklahoma
Pod 2-Missouri, Arkansas, Vandy, Ole Miss
Pod 3-Miss St,Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama
Pod 4- Auburn, Georgia, Florida, SC
Geographically it would be hard to beat.
Source?Texas offered A&M a home and home after they left and they declined.
I can see Arky wanting to be with their old Southwest Conference rivals. I don’t think all rivals have to be in the same pod as long as there is a “permanent opponent” that takes care of it. I see that having to occur because there are just too many rivals within the conferenceArkansas has been promised to be in the Texas-OU pod. A&M will probably be thrown a bone and not be there.
