At Clempson its always somebody else's fault

The racist voicemail left for the recruit. Not clempsons fault. Couldn't be our great fans. Not sure if you heard,but Clempson didn't even mention it on his visit. The mother was so infuriated she played it for them.
Now a majority on tigernet don't understand how hanging bananas on a African American sign is racist, LOL.
Tillman Hall controversy, not our fault. If this was happening at USC they would be talking about it non stop and using it against us in recruiting. OK now go ahead and defend it all. Please comment how it happens everywhere so it's ok. Go Tigers.

Dont need to defend. Just google "Clemson Dan" Twitter (include quotes), you will see he is an imposter troll. A lot of people hope this guy is never found. Clemson fans hope he is.
 
Like I said always somebody else's fault jet ski, not our fault. Sammy Watkins, no big deal. Racial issues on campus? Nope, happens everywhere so it's ok. Cheated in the 80's. Nope, it was just a extra few chicken nuggets. How dare them ban us from TVand bowls. Drugs, nope. They started doing them in the NFL after leaving Clempson. Lakkip, cocaine, everybody does it.

The bananas thing is so overblown . These 75 or so students who are protesting just want somebody to kiss their ass. Hopefully whoever done it will be catch . But it's not like this person will go to jail or anything .

Blatant racism is never overblown. It has no place in society and it makes our African-American friends feel scared and completely unwelcome.

He should be made fun of for having a lame sense of humor that's about it. Normally I pull for administrations to do the right thing and tell kids to read books instead of watching propaganda films, but here I want the administration to grovel some more. Grovel like USC's administration does with the NCAA. Because getting on your knees is how you get your teeth kicked in. I hope this spirals out of control and the state has to step in and close Clemson and sell it's spare parts for pennies on the dollar. Tillman is one of the few historical figures that it isn't out of context to call an evil bigot and his school should be shut down.

Interesting question. The language of the message has some threats in it. Clearly it was intended as a threat, with the KKK references, which is why likely not CU. If therefore a hate crime, and the feds get involved, who knows what will happen? If not a fed issue, maybe a few months in jail, or more likely a long probabtion? Aside from that, what sort of NCAA violation would it be, if any? Was it an illegal contact? I dont think it was during an illegal period, but not sure how that works with boosters.

Those of us brought up in this state with any knowledge about our colleges and universities have always known that Clemson is by far the most bigoted racial school in this state and always will be. On reason why so many bigoted people in this state are their fans.

I find it odd that students are protesting. Clemson only has a 6% black enrollment. You can Google 100 websites that will give you that number. If they're not wanted there then why go? I've never understood that. Why go somewhere you're not wanted?
 
It is interesting that the "fruited" sign was one commemorating the slaves owned by JC Calhoun and the black prison labor that cleared the land.

Did I read that right? The sign itself seems kind of insensitive.

We toss around a lot of venomous talk about Clemson, but this post ^^^^ really defines the 'Clemson Story' re: race relations. Think about it. It's true and most honest Clemson people will agree with Manafold's post. Tillman wanted the school located in the whitest section of the state and as far from the (blank)dom areas of SC as politico-geography limitations would allow. The man was the all-time 'greatest' racist in American history - he was 'good' and 'successful' at it. Fact.

Yes, Citadel Alum and life long Clemson fan...I have close friends and family on both side of the rivalry, so I like to have fun with it. I don't take any of it seriously and I am very level headed about it (at least I think I am). Cheers

Jeff I agree what the most black kids know about racist actions it what someone told them. I grew up when it was not bananas hanging from a sign it was a poor black man hanging from a tree who happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Their grandparents call tell them about real injustice not the race whores. Racism will never die because there is always some low life out there to revive it here in the United States of the Offended.

If it's a student they should be kicked out of school. There's probably not much legally you can do about it. But to suggest there's some threshold of outright discrimination or perhaps violence to be considered "true racism" is seriously disturbing on your part.

What we've seen here is indeed true racism, and it's not cool at all. I would want people of all races to feel welcome if I were CU, and stunts like this would make me want to go elsewhere if I were black

Much ado about nothing. Some kid, or kids, did it as a joke. Maybe not the most tasteful of jokes, but a joke none the less. And then of course you have the blacks, always playing the victim at every opportunity, as they have been taught by Jesse, Al, and the liberal media. Clemson would serve themselves well by telling them to get back to class and get over it. I am sure this isn't the first time a distasteful joke has been played on campus. There seems to be about as much coverage, and more public outrage, about this than the kid that died with the fraternity deal a year, or so, ago.

Agreed. I'm glad I never saw one either but if some of these kids could travel back in time their heads would explode. Now they get their feeling bruised and have to have a safe place. Can't say this or can't say that BS just go to school and shut it.
 
If the color situation were reversed, it would be called "freedom of speech" and applauded like the urine crucifix. It was in incredibly bad taste to do it. A hate crime, not by a long shot. What is it that a black group can beat someone almost to death and it's just assault but let someone hang bananas and it's a hate crime. Let's play same rules for everyone.
