We had no clue we were going to be that bad in 2020 this same time last year. Do we think we have significantly better players this year? I would say we have a lot of unproven players and a lot of question marks + a few less NFL players but maybe a little bit older and more experienced in spots. I think it's very realistic to argue we were much more proven and talented last year than this year, it just all went sideways with injuries, opt outs, and coaching.
Are we thinking a coaching change alone with a less talented roster is going to significantly improve the season? I think the answer is yes by a few games. I think with the COVID stuff, injuries and such a hot seat for the coaches had the team with so many distractions it was just an impossible season. I feel like this season the players will have this huge weight lifted off their shoulders and can just have fun and play football. We won't be world beaters but they can be better just by getting back to basics and a fresh perspective and not trying to save their coaches job etc.
