Tyler Callihan is projected to go No. 28 overall to the Milwaukee Brewers in this year's draft, according to Baseball America's first mock draft of the year. Last year's No. 28 overall pick (Seth Beer, oddly enough) signed for $2.25 million.

From BA:

"The lack of a true position and a 5-foot-11, 211-pound frame could limit how early Callihan goes, but he’s one of the top hitters in the high school class. He seems to have a knack for barreling the baseball with authority from the left side, and he draws strong reviews for his makeup and work ethic as well. Teams could try to develop him at third, second or even as a catcher, but he’ll get drafted on the strength of his bat. Callihan hit in the middle of Team USA’s gold-winning 18U lineup in November, with a .528/.575/.889 line that trailed only Bobby Witt Jr. in batting average."

Callihan doesn't have a true position, but the coaching staff believes he could come in and play third base. He had a phenomenal summer and really productive stint for Team USA recently. The coaching staff really, really liked him.

In talking with Callihan, he's open to coming to school but the money could be too much for him to enroll. Callihan signed his NLI this February. He took his official visit in October with nine other members of the 2019 class.
