Just for fun, and of course we KNOW there likely won’t be a consensus on many hires...what percentage of Beamers hires do you think the majority of this board/Gamecock fans will approve of?

I’m going high and will say at most there will be 2 hires fans will question.

Hundo P! I mean most were happy with the last two HC hires so is there a lower floor?

Priority 1 is to keep Connor Shaw. I don’t know if Mangus would be a good addition or not. Shaw and Mangus worked well together.

I thought Larry put together a pretty good staff on paper too. Except for Roper. That was the hire that most people scratched their head over.

It isn't about who but how well they will work together. To that end, I think the OC and DC should hire their own staff. A HC should have very strong reasons for rejecting a hire.

For example, Spurrier should NOT have let Whammy hire Deke Adams.

Don't get confused by whomever shows up, or stays. Xs and Os don't matter. And you really want know how good, or bad, these coaches are for a couple of years. It is all about recruiting. Scheme means nothing if the talent isn't upgraded. And upgraded in a dramatic way.

Agree to an extent. Talent usually wins out. But good coaches that can teach the game can get a lot more out of lesser players. That can be the difference in an extra win or two -- maybe even a big one. Enough of those can lead to recruiting better talent.

I am afraid at this point, it may be a lost cause. I truly don't think thos in charge give the slightest crap about football other than to cash those SEC checks. The last two football HC hires are proof. We can pray and hope some technique, or cute scheme, might help USC catch up. Superior talent stops all nonsense

That's definitely a concern.
